Some people don’t just want a practical family vehicle. They also want some level of high-performance. And, performance is not relegated to just cars. So, since SUVs are so popular, it seems like it is time to produce a list of Chevrolet SUVs that perform the fastest in their 0-60 mph tests. SUV is defined as the SUV category listed on the Chevrolet website.

2020 Chevrolet Blazer – 6.1 seconds

The 2020 Blazer is a recent addition to the Chevy lineup. But, it is selling briskly from the get-go. It has a 3.6-liter V6 engine that according to Motortrend, has a 0-60 mph time at a relatively brisk, at 6.1-seconds for the AWD equipped model.

2020 Chevrolet Suburban – 6.2 seconds

The 2020 Chevy Suburban has been around forever. It is a popular go-to for people looking for a family vehicle with space and the ability to tow really well. The Suburban is longer than the Tahoe. The big brother is available with a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8. Testing 0-60 mph times reveals 6.9-seconds and 6.2-seconds, respective of powerplants, according to Car and Driver.

2020 Chevrolet Equinox – 6.4 seconds

The 2020 Chevy Equinox has two engine choices. So, if quick throttle response is a prerequisite for purchase, then the more powerful 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder option is the way to go. It gives the crossover SUV more gumption. It races to sixty miles per hour at 6.4 seconds according to our friends at Carindigo.

2020 Chevrolet Tahoe – 6.4 seconds

The 2020 Chevy Tahoe is a full-size SUV. It is big. It is heavy. But it can move! It is available with two V8 engine choices, a 5.3-liter, and a 6.2-liter. Carindigo records that the smaller powerplant can move the vehicle to sixty miles per hour in 6.5-seconds. But, the larger engine propels the vehicle to sixty at 6.4-seconds.

2020 Chevrolet Traverse – 7.1 seconds

The 2020 Traverse is another SUV offered by Chevy. It has a 3.6-liter V6 as its only choice for a powerplant. That engine propels the Traverse 0-60 mph at 7.1-seconds, according to Carindigo.

2020 Chevrolet Trax – 9.3 seconds

The last model listed on the Chevy SUV website for the 2020 model year is the Trax. It is outside the top 5 on this list. It has a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine. From a standstill, the 0-60 mph time for the Trax came in at 9.3-seconds, according to Carindigo.

A family hauler does not have to be docile. As can be seen in the list above, the fastest Chevrolet SUVs can carve up the tarmac as well as family duties. So, having the term performance in the same conversation as the term SUV is actually appropriate. In fact, some of the 0-60 mph times are on par with exotic performance machines of only a few years ago.
