The 2020 Dodge Charger beat the 2020 Toyota Camry, the 2020 Honda Accord, and many other popular sedans just by being the cool kid. Cars.com named the Dodge Charger the most popular sedan of 2020. The 2020 Dodge Charger family sedan even starts for thousands more than the mainstream competition. Still, it enticed more American families than the rest in 2020.

The 2020 Dodge Charger

For the 2020 model year, the updated 2020 Charger Scat Pack and Charger SRT Hellcat with Widebody packages are added to the lineup. The upgrades are an addition intended to create better grip and sharper handling. The brakes, too, are enhanced. All this is done––must be done––in order to stand up to the ludicrous amount of power in both the Scat Pack and Hellcat packages.

However, these upgrades don’t stop there. Included in each of these packages is a long list of extras. They cover each model from tip to end, all the way down to the tires.

These new 2020 Dodge Charger models aren’t only perfect for power-hungry sedan buyers. In fact, they also appeal stylistically to those who appreciate a good ol’ American muscle car. It’s no wonder that these sedans are popular. It is, however, a bit surprising that enough American buyers throw practicality to the wind for this model to take the top spot for popularity.

Is the Dodge Charger a good family sedan?

Overall, the Dodge Charger is a good family sedan. In fact, it would certainly not have made it as the most popular car on Cars.com if it wasn’t any good. In the J.D. Power review of the 2020 Dodge Charger model, the consensus is positive. In fact, the 2020 Charger received the rating of ‘Great’ in 3 of the 4 areas of judging.

For quality and reliability, J.D. Power scored the 2020 Dodge Charger 89/100. In the driving experience category, the Charger received a scoring of 88/100. Then for resale value, J.D. Power gave a score of 82/100. The only category in which the Dodge Charger did not earn a ‘Great’ score is for the dealership experience. In this area, the 2020 Dodge Charger model only earned an ‘Average’ scoring of 69/100.

Still, all-in-all the Charger is a versatile family sedan with ample space for passengers and a wide range of options. Cars.com reports a price range of $29,995 — $69,995. This is a bit higher than both the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, but apparently people don’t care. The Charger wins in terms of cool points.

What about the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord?

So where do the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord rank on Cars.com? Surely these other popular choices must be up there. According to the list of most popular sedans, the Toyota Camry is the second most popular family sedan. Then the Accord comes in fourth place, right after its sibling the Honda Civic.
