It can be difficult for families to choose a three-row SUV. There are so many options, like the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot. However, the 2021 Hyundai Palisade just earned an incredible award that might blow the competition away. Check out the Hyundai Palisade’s latest flex.

How safe is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade?

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade is exceptionally safe, giving it a leg up on the competition. According to Auto Blog, the Hyundai Palisade was granted a Top Safety Pick+ award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Achieving this honor from the IIHS is no easy task. It’s not just a top safety pick. It’s a top safety pick+. Hyundai made LED lights standard on each Palisade trim level to earn this award. This came after the IIHS became more strict with its awards.

Part of the criteria for this award includes that all headlights for each trim level must achieve Acceptable or better ratings. The Palisade headlights earned a rating of Good, which is higher than acceptable.

How did the Palisade perform in safety tests?

The IIHS put the 2021 Hyundai Palisade through a series of crash simulations to accurately judge how well it can protect drivers and passengers, and it didn’t disappoint. The Palisade scored the highest ratings possible in each category.

With impacts from the front, sides, and rear, the Palisade received a Good score. It also proved itself in the area of roof strength, seats, and head restraints. The realistic crash test dummies had their heads, necks, chests, hips, thighs, and legs protected.

Also, the forward collision prevention system was able to avoid collisions at speeds of 12 mph and 25 mph. You also need to have forward collision prevention with pedestrian detection to be a top safety pick.

What features come standard with the Hyundai Palisade?

So, now that we know that the 2021 Hyundai Palisade is very safe for families, how much does this safety cost? The base model has an MSRP of about $32,525. This price feels steep, but it comes with tons of value.

According to U.S.News, with the base model, you get a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, LED headlights, automatic high-beam headlights, driver drowsiness warning, and a rear-seat alert.

Available safety features include front parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera system, and a head-up display. Also, there are child safety locks, electronic stability control, and traction control.

Plus, the base model has a V6 engine with 291 hp, so it’s not short on power. You can add all-wheel drive for about $1,700, which is a little steep. Other standard features include an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, five USB ports, HD radio, 18-inch wheels, and cloth upholstery.

You can upgrade to a 10.2-inch touchscreen, 20-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated seats, leather upholstery, power-folding third-row seats, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and more.

Best of all, no matter which Hyundai Palisade trim you choose, you can trust it to keep your family safe. Even the rear-seat reminder will help you remember if a little one is in the backseat, and the driver attention warning can help prevent you from driving tired.
