Are you interested in purchasing a new 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer? Even for a full-size SUV, it’s the height of luxury and impressive. Unfortunately, with all those luxurious features comes a steep starting price. Did you know that the Grand Wagoneer’s base model costs $89,995? However, for any of the Jeep SUV’s trims to be worth buying, you’ll need to spend a whole lot more. You almost have to spend $100,000 on a 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

A 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series I base model isn’t worth it

The most affordable 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is the Series I base model. Unfortunately, even at its lowest, the price is still nearly $90,000. That’s more than some rivals’ fully-loaded trim levels. On the bright side, the cheapest Grand Wagoneer is ultra-luxurious, but is it worth the cash?

According to Edmunds, every Jeep full-size SUV trim has a 6.4-liter V8 engine that produces 471 horsepower. Optionally, a turbocharged inline-six is available, upping the power to 510 hp. As for features, the base model has an adaptive air suspension, a hands-free liftgate, retractable running boards, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats with massage, a heated steering wheel, a heated second row of seats, and much more.

Technology like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a navigation system, and more are included inside the cabin of the full-size SUV.

One other trim is under $100,000

Although not by much, there is one other 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer trim that starts under $100,000. The Series II model costs $99,995 MSRP, which is technically below the six-figure mark. However, it doesn’t really feel like it’s worth the extra $10,000 compared to the base model. Edmunds says only 22-inch wheels, upgraded leather upholstery, suede headliner, passenger-seat memory settings, a digital rearview mirror, a driver attention warning, and traffic sign recognition are added.

There is also an optional package unlocked at this trim level. However, it costs more and will easily put the price well over the $100,000 mark. We also don’t think it’s worth it, offering just roof rail crossbars, color-tinted windows, ventilated second-row seats, and more.

Series III and Obsidian models are well over $100,000

Finally, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III and Obsidian models are all that and more. Although the Obsidian model is considered its own trim level, it costs $105,490 and is a Series II with a blacked-out roof, wheels, and piano-black accents inside and out. In addition, it gets a few features from the Series II and Series III models. These include ventilated second-row seats, roof rails, a front console cooling box, a 23-speaker McIntosh sound system, and more.

Alternatively, the top of the lineup is the best of the bunch. Every Series III model gets everything from the lower trims, plus a few additions usually found in optional packages. For example, the Convenience and Premium Group II packages are standard. These add driver attention warning, an infrared night vision camera, enhanced adaptive cruise control, a front console cooling box, ventilated second-row seats, and so much more. Unfortunately, it also costs $109,995.

You Almost Have to Spend $100,000 on a 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

In conclusion, it’s almost a necessity to spend $100,000 on a 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The most popular trim level is the most expensive, so it seems consumers are doing just that. Although the base model is well-equipped, if you can afford a $90,000 full-size SUV, $100,000 or more probably isn’t too much of a reach. That’s why we recommend just going for the top-of-the-lineup 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer because it’s got everything the lower trims have, plus more.
