Having a rare Acura or Honda might not sound like a worthy investment to you, considering they’re not exactly classic cars. However, if you pick the right one, like a Honda S2000 for example, then it could actually go up in value in the coming years, even if it’s only incrementally.

But of course, not everyone is in the market for a two-seat convertible, but if you want a rare Acura sedan, then you’re in luck. There is one special-edition Acura that just came out last year, which you can currently find in the used market for a much better price.

There were only 360 copies of this Acura sedan produced

Believe it or not, rarity does play a big part when it comes to used Hondas and Acuras. For example, if you can find a clean Acura Integra Type R, then you’re likely going to pay upwards of $20,000 to $30,000 for it. That’s a pretty special car and those are some high numbers considering it costs around $21,000 when it was new in the late 90s.

but in the case of this particular Acura sedan, we’re talking about, you might have to wait a while before you see it appreciate or hold its value in the long term. In case you’re wondering, the car that we’re referring to is none other than the 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition. And its rarity comes from the fact that only 360 copies were produced.

Didn’t that car just come out last year?

Yes, the Acura TLX PMC Edition just came out last year and was on sale for $48,950 (before the destination charge). However, you can currently find some super low-mileage, semi-used examples currently for sale nationwide.

The lowest-priced TLX PMC that we found on CarGurus only has around 6,000 miles on it and is located in Southern California. That particular car is currently for sale at Mission Viejo Acura for $38,993 plus taxes and fees. Overall, that’s a pretty price considering you’re getting about $10,000 off the original MSRP with less than 10,000 miles accumulated on the odometer after only one year.

What so special about the Acura TLX PMC?

For those not in the know, the 2020 Acura TLX PMC was the automaker’s way of ushering out the first-generation TLX in style. Every TLX PMC is hand-built at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, by the same master technicians that assemble the NSX supercar.

Each Acura TLX PMC is not only hand-built but it’s also covered in the brand’s special Valencia Red Pearl paint (a $6,000 value), the same paint that graces the body of the NSX. Additionally, each one of these special cars is outfitted with both the A-Spec and Advance packages, which means that it will have the aggressive body kit in addition to the tech-savvy features you would expect in a luxury sedan.

Some of these features include remote start, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and heated front and rear seats. Let’s not forget that it also comes with the AcuraWatch suite of driver-assist features and a special Milano leather black interior with suede inserts. Under the hood is the standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Could this Acura really rise in value?

It’s always a bit of a crapshoot when it comes to older Hondas and Acuras rising in value, but considering the rarity of the TLX PMC, it stands as a good possibility. Either way, the current pricing on the used market seems like a good deal. So if you want one, now is a great time to snatch one up.
