Frustrated driver ran over a repo man’s head as he tried to take a 2011 Ford Focus
Car repossession is a massive topic in the automotive world. Many struggling drivers fear it, but it’s necessary for financial institutions when people can’t make their monthly payments. Recently, a couple in Memphis spotted a repo truck and decided to take matters into their own hands. The tow truck driver is in the hospital recovering from serious injuries.
Car repossession is regrettable, but repo truck drivers shouldn’t be attacked
According to Fox 13 Memphis, someone called the local police department to the University Gardens Manor apartments in Hyde Park for what was described as an assault. Once on the scene, the officers found a repo truck driver who had been run over by a car he was in the process of repossessing. The vehicle in question was a 2011 Ford Focus.
The report says that the repo truck driver was underneath the Ford Focus when he heard a man and a woman approaching. The woman told the man to “hurry up.” Sadly, he then got inside the vehicle and proceeded to back up, injuring the man’s head and arm as he drove. The couple then drove off, unconcerned about the well-being of the man to whom they had just caused injury.
Regarding his injuries, the repo truck driver had abrasions on his head and pain in his arm. The report also says that they had to shake the man for him to maintain consciousness. Luckily, at least two witnesses were on the scene. One happened to be the person who sold the couple the car. This also means she was the one who put it up for car repossession, as they had not been making payments.
One neighbor had this to say, “It’s hard to watch. It’s real hard to watch. I feel sorry for him, but I don’t think your job that important, bro. I don’t think as a person who tows cars, he should have seen, looked to see what was going on and decided not to put himself under the car.” The repo truck driver is now recovering.
