Ram 1500 (RAM) RED Helps Bono’s Organization Fight Pandemics

As seen with coronavirus (COVID-19), global pandemics can wreak havoc on populations, causing significant illness and death. In 2006, Bono, the singer and songwriter of the rock band U2, created (RED) to fight the AIDS pandemic. Now, (RED) is also fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Ram, Jeep, and Fiat are helping Bono’s organization with special-edition (RED) models, including the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited (RAM) RED Edition pickup truck.

Since its inception in 2006, (RED) raised nearly $700 and helped more than 200 million people. The funds go toward communities that have been hit the hardest by pandemics. Bono called the (RED) partnership with Ram, Jeep, and Fiat “a power shot in the arm” to fight pandemics and “the complacency that fuels them.”

“I’m here to sell an idea that unless this pandemic is defeated everywhere, no one is safe anywhere. I’m not sure it’s clear that people realize that it’s not an act of charity to get vaccines out to people who live on the other side of the world. It’s enlightened self-interest.”

– Bono, U2 frontman and co-founder of (RED)
