The clock is officially ticking for the Ram 1500 EV. It’s almost time for this new electric truck to step up to the plate. This truck has been talking a big game, but can it back up its promises? Let’s see what to expect with the 2024 Ram 1500 EV

When will the 2024 Ram 1500 EV come out?

The 2024 Ram 1500 EV will make its debut in a few weeks at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 5. The new electric truck will take the stage at the world’s most influential tech show.

Plus, it’s an international event, so the Ram 1500 BEV concept will be judged worldwide! The truck was supposed to be revealed at the LA Auto Show but got delayed. We hope it doesn’t get pushed back again, or it will enter Tesla Cybertruck territory.

Also, the electric Ram truck has significant rumors to answer. According to Green Car Reports, Ram shared that the electric truck will be a visionary glimpse of the future that shows how the brand will redefine the segment.

Its electric vehicles, including the Ram EV, will push past the competition as leaders in a combination of areas that are most important to truck owners, such as charge time, range, towing, and payload capacity.

How much range will the Ram EV have?

The official range for the 2024 Ram 1500 EV hasn’t been released yet. However, it might have some work to do. The Ford F-150 Lightning delivers up to 320 miles of EPA-estimated range on a single charge. The Rivian R1T maxes out at about 314 miles.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to match these figures as they are pretty average across the segment. However, the Chevy Silverado EV suggests that it will provide up to 400 miles of range and the Tesla Cybertruck seeks to deliver over 500 miles of range.

When it comes to towing, the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado RST EV can tow up to 10,000 lbs. The Rivian R1T can tow up to 11,000 lbs, and the Tesla Cybertruck wants to deliver on being able to tow up to 14,000 lbs.

Stellantis hasn’t revealed how much the Ram 1500 EV can tow, but it will at least have to beat the R1T. Also, does the electric Ram truck have better technology for towing?

Towing tests with the Lightning and R1T revealed that electric trucks can lose charge at a rapid rate with midsize trailers.

What else do we know about the electric Ram truck?

The 2024 Ram 1500 EV will be built on the new STLA Frame platform. The Jeep Recon will use this platform too. It should be flexible for off-roading, and full-length rails will protect the flat battery pack. The battery cells are made in America.

There are rumors about a range extender for the Ram BEV. It could reduce range anxiety by providing extra juice as needed. It could be a gas-powered generator that sits in the truck bed along with a spare tire.

Also, the truck is expected to have similarities to the gas-powered model. It should be the same shape and size. However, the bumpers, headlights, tail lights, tires, and sides could have a futuristic style.

We will learn more about the Ram EV on January 5, and we can’t wait to see how it will hold up against the competition. The first deliveries could be made by the end of 2023.
