The 2025 Porsche Taycan returns for the new model year with faster charging, more range, and, of course, more power. It’s not just your regularly scheduled bump in power to fend off the lot accusing Zuffenhausen of laziness, mind you. No, Porsche will imbue the 2025 Taycan Turbo S with 938 horsepower, the most horsepower of any road-going production Porsche to date.

The new 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is the most powerful road-going model the marque has ever made

For 2025, the Porsche Taycan electric vehicle (EV) returns with more power, extended range, and faster charging times. That’s good news for the brand’s faithful suffering the slings and meme arrows of Tesla fanatics. However, the most exciting news arrives on the heels of the power bump for the nameplate’s Turbo S model.

The new 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo S will develop 938 horsepower and 808 lb-ft of torque. That’s an impressive figure and puts the new model at the better part of 200 ponies ahead of the Taycan’s most potent predecessor. You’d struggle to find a single trim that jumped that far in a single model year.

What’s more, the near-four-figure power figure makes the new Porsche Taycan Turbo S the most powerful road-going production model the brand has ever rolled out. The most savage, tire-splitting of 991-generation 911 Turbo S models peaked at 700 horsepower. Beyond the 911 lineup, the unicorn 918 Spyder used its hybrid hypercar magic to produce a combined 887 horsepower. But not 938. That bragging right belongs to the incipient 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo S, and it alone.

However, even with the brand’s horsepower bragging rights, the Taycan Turbo S has a steep hill to climb. For instance, the Tesla Model S Plaid produces 1,020 horsepower. That, and when properly prepared, Tesla says its heavyweight champ will hit 60 mph in 1.9 seconds. The upcoming Taycan Turbo S has some high-voltage competition.
