The Ford Expedition is currently the largest SUV in the company’s lineup, and like most cars in Ford’s lineup, the Expedition has plenty of options. As expected, those options improve some areas of the full-size SUV, but they’ll also increase its price tag by a lot. Here’s a look at what SUV shoppers can expect to pay for the standard 2024 Ford Expedition and one that’s been equipped with all the bells and whistles that Ford has to offer.

This is what the automaker offers on the standard 2024 Ford Expedition

Right now, Ford offers 10 different trim options on the Expedition, and the base version is the XL STX. It starts at around $56,000, and it comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This is the same engine that’s on every version of the full-size SUV. It gets 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. At best, this engine gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on highways, for 19 mpg combined.

The standard configuration of the SUV also allows owners to tow about 6,000 pounds. On the inside, seating for five is standard, as is cloth upholstery, and the steering wheel is wrapped with leather. When the seats are folded down, the standard Expedition gets up to 104.6 cu.-ft. in cargo capacity.

In terms of tech, it has an 8-inch digital gauge cluster display and a 12-inch touchscreen. There’s a WiFi hotspot, and Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system. Ford also gave the full-size SUV a few standard smart safety features, such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights.

The 2024 Ford Expedition Platinum Max is the full-size SUV’s top trim

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Platinum Max, which starts at just over $84,000. It comes with three rows of seats as standard, and this gives it a standard seating capacity of seven. These seats are spacious and comfortable. Leather upholstery is standard, and the front and second-row seats are both heated. The second row has captain’s chairs, and the third-row seats can recline. The front seats also have a massage feature.

Tech-wise, it gets a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster display and a 15.5-inch touchscreen. It also has a 22-speaker premium sound system, wireless phone charging, tri-zone automatic climate control, and more. The Detroit-based automaker gave the full-size SUV more smart safety features too. One of the biggest additions is Ford BlueCruise, which is the company’s semi-autonomous self-driving system.

In terms of specs, there are a few upgrades. It has the same V6 engine, but it’s tuned to get 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. This allows it to tow 6,300 pounds without adding the optional towing upgrade. The SUV also gets more max cargo capacity, and it tops out at 121.5 cu.-ft.

Ford offers many add-ons and accessories to the 2024 Ford Expedition

Drivers have several paint options to choose from, and the most expensive ones, such as Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, goes for about $1,000. Similarly, the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package costs $1,000. That package adds features like reverse brake assist, as well as a different axle. This package ultimately allows the Platinum Max to tow up to 9,000 pounds of stuff.

One of the more expensive options is the 22-inch six-spoke polished wheel option, and it costs about $1,250. The automaker offers cheaper accessories or features too, such as an engine block heater that goes for $100. A cargo organizer also goes for $100. All said and done, a fully loaded 2024 Ford Expedition can cost owners over $98,000.
