There’s no shortage of celebrities that have a fleet of high-dollar cars. However, when you start getting into celebrities-turned-business-moguls like Michael Jordan, one could imagine he’s got quite a stash of vehicles. MJ is said to have a net worth north of a billion dollars. So, let’s take a look at the five craziest vehicles His Airness has owned.

Ferrari 512TR

According to GQ, Michael Jordan’s first Ferrari purchase was a 1992 Ferrari 512TR. The legendary flat-12 Ferrari was a gift to himself for winning his first NBA Championship with the Chicago Bulls in 1991.

Jordan purchased the car in black and got custom vanity plates for it that read “M AIR J.” Obviously, representing his initials and the “Air Jordan” nickname he had already acquired by then.

This wasn’t his last Ferrari, though. Jordan also had a 550 Maranello and a 599 GTB Fiorano, completing a lineup of only 12-cylinder Ferraris!

Jordan also owned perhaps the most criminally underrated Corvette there ever was. The C4 ZR1 had 405 horsepower coming from an engine developed specifically for it. Furthermore, GM engineers designed it specifically to be difficult to detect on police radar guns. Seriously!

Jordan took delivery of one of only 225 40th Anniversary Edition ZR1s ever to be made after the Chicago Bull’s three-peat championship win in 1993.

Legend has it that Seattle SuperSonics point guard Gary Payton attempted to stir up some trash talk about how he could afford flashy cars like Jordan. Allegedly, Jordan’s response was, “The cars I got are just like yours, except mine were free.”

Porsche 993 911 Turbo S

It’s no secret that Michael Jordan is a Porsche fan. In fact, the Air Jordan 6 shoe drew inspiration from his Slantnose Porsche 911 Turbo. His car collection has been littered with the world’s most recognizable sports car for decades.

However, later in his career, Jordan bought a 1998 Porsche 911 Turbo S in Guards Red to match the Bulls logo. On it, he had vanity plates that simply red “AIR.” That play works out nicely in two ways. Aside from the obvious in it representing his nickname, the 993 was also the final generation of air-cooled Porsche 911s.

McLaren-Mercedes SLR 722

Jordan has had a fleet of Mercedes and AMG cars. However, the spiciest Mercedes to hit his collection was undoubtedly the SLR 722.

The 722 is a special edition car built to commemorate the 1955 Mille Miglia of racing legend Stirling Moss. It has a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 under the hood and pushes out a whopping 641 horsepower.

This car, however, is no longer in the collection. In early 2021, Car and Driver reported that the car was for sale in Texas. The asking price at the time was $695,750.

Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir

GQ states that this particular car isn’t entirely confirmed. Lately, Jordan stays a bit more on the down-low with his finances and purchases. However, rumors are floating around that Jordan bought one of the 12 Sang Noir (black bloods) Veyrons in the world.

Another notable Sang Noir owner is hip-hop royalty and puffy-coat-wearing extraordinaire Drake.

This is only the tip of the iceberg

Jordan has owned a fleet of other vehicles, including just about any AMG Mercedes one could imagine. Additionally, he’s had Bentleys and a host of luxurious SUVs in the fleet too.

Jordan also now owns a NASCAR racing team, too. So, one could argue that those race cars also technically qualify as part of his fleet.

Overall, His Airness seems to have a pretty awesome taste in cars!
