Among celebrities, some cars just seem more popular. For example, Keanu Reeves considers himself a pretty loyal Porsche fan. More specifically, The Matrix and John Wick actor holds a particular appreciation for the Porsche 911.

Over the years, Reeves has owned some pretty incredible models, including a vintage Porsche 911 he once had. Unfortunately, while he was away filming, that sweet vintage Porsche was stolen. However, Porsche stepped in to build Reeves a custom replacement that is even more impressive.

Keanu Reeves sure loves his Porsche models

Keanu Reeves’ love of Porsches dates back to his childhood when his grandmother gifted him a toy, Porsche. The toy was a Matchbox car rendition of a gray Porsche 911 Turbo. The rest is history.

Today, his celebrity garage is lined with beautiful cars, including several Porsche models and motorcycles, as Auto Evolution lists. One of his most prized set of wheels was a black Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (Type 993.)

This model wasn’t just a collector’s item for Reeves. He “loves driving,” as he once told Top Gear when he spoke about having done the Porsche Driving Experience. “The Sled,” as he called it, had a sport exhaust, sunroof, and manual transmission, according to HotCars. Reeves admitted to using “any excuse” to venture up the Pacific Coast Highway in his favorite Porsche of all time.

Remember in John Wick when Keanu Reeves’ Mustang gets stolen? He likely felt the same in real life when he realized his beloved Porsche 911 had been stolen while he was away on set. Reeves says he had to go through a mourning period before he was ready to replace that car. However, when he was ready to talk about getting another Porsche 911, Porsche was ready to help.

The new Porsche 911 wasn’t going to be just “any 911.” It would come to life with Reeves-inspired customizations. He reached out to Porsche’s Customer Consultation Center in Beverly Hills to explore the personalization options. As Porsche recounted, “black anodized interior panels? Hm. After some consultations with Germany, yes. How about the 12-o’clock center marker on the steering wheel? More consultations. Another yes.”

The back and forth continued until Reeves had his ultimate Porsche 911. The result was a modern-day interpretation of an iconic legend built for speed while still suited for daily use. Reeves even drove this car to the set of John Wick.

As Esquire points out, 90s-era Porsche models seem to be favorites for many celebrities. Keanu Reeves’ Porsche 911 isn’t the only model among the Hollywood garages. Also referred to as the Porsche 933, this car is revered among other big-name owners, including Harry Styles, Jerry Seinfeld, Kendall Jenner, and Antonio Banderas.

These Porsche 993 models were made from 1994 to 1998 for the 1995 to 1998 model years and have always been a highly sought-after series among enthusiasts. Unlike today’s water-cooled varieties, they’re the last of the air-cooled models. To many Porsche fans, these model years represent some of the loveliest designs. Depending on the condition, you could theoretically find and buy one of these models today for $60,000.

The Porsche 911 continues to be one of the most desirable and influential cars on the market. It even inspired designs for the Star Wars starships and the Cyberpunk 2077 Porsche 930 911 Turbo. Keanu Reeves certainly adores his, even though it took the theft of his vintage model to get it.
