U.S.News has awarded Mazda with the 2024 Best SUV Brand award. This is quite a surprise as Hyundai has been the previous winner for the past few years. While Hyundai SUVs are quite impressive, they fell short against the expanding Mazda SUV lineup.

The award is based on the average score every brand has in each segment. Every SUV is evaluated and assigned a score based on trusted reviews provided by critics online, in magazines, and in new papers.

Why did Mazda beat Hyundai?

While Mazda and Hyundai both offer diverse SUVs, the Mazda lineup seems to provide drivers and families with more options to consider. For example, Mazda SUVs include the rugged CX-50 for conquering off-road challenges.

Both the Hyundai Tucson and Mazda CX-30 are excellent entry-level options, but the CX-30 is a little more athletic and comfortable.

These rankings may change as Mazda, Hyundai, and other automakers reveal what’s new for the upcoming year. Stay tuned to see if Mazda stays on top.
