Is the 2019 Ford F-150 a good truck? 

Yes, the 2019 Ford F-150 is a great truck. The Ford F-Series trucks have been the best-selling vehicles for 38 consecutive years, so the 2019 model didn’t ruin their streak.

And now, the 2019 model is getting significant discounts. Truecar data finds the best deals by analyzing average retail prices, average transaction prices, and discounts in dollars and the percentage off list prices, 

According to AutoBlog, which used Truecar data, the 2019 Ford F-150 has the second-largest discount on a brand new truck. The best deal is on the 2019 Ram 1500 model.

Drivers are averaging a discount of 13% off the price of the 2019 Ram 1500, for an average cost of $41,667. This provides a discount of $6,071 off the average retail price, creating the best truck deal of October 2020. 

But this article is sticking to the most popular truck. The 2019 Ford F-150 currently has an average transaction price of $43m064, which is about $3,843 off the sticker price.

The 2020 Ford F-150 has a $2,810 discount with an average transaction price of $47,300. However, with the 2021 Ford F-150 coming out soon, these discounts could get bigger. 

Is the 2019 Ford F-150 better than the 2020 model? 

There aren’t too many changes between the 2019 and 2020 Ford F-150 models. The 2021 model is the option that just received exterior and interior updates. So, it may be worth waiting until they arrive for a smarter and more comfortable truck.

The 2019 and 2020 Ford F-150 models have the same mechanical and capability features. The 2020 Ford F-150 has the same 6 engine options, same 13,200 maximum towing capacity, and a payload capacity of 3,270. 

For 2020 the Ford F-150 gained a few more standard features such as lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring, trailer length blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. So the only reason to pick the 2020 Ford F-150 over the 2019 model is to gain more standard tech features. 

Is the 2019 Ford F-150 reliable? 

Unfortunately, according to ConsumerReports, the 2019 Ford F-150 isn’t very reliable. It’s ranked in last place for reliability among 2019 pickup trucks. An entire 8 other options are ranked ahead of it.

The reliability rating is based on driver reviews and problems from previous model years. Problem areas for the 2019 Ford F-150 include electrical issues, problems with the drive system, and transmission issues. 

However, ConsumerReports gave the 2020 Ford F-150 a low-reliability rating too. Only it ranks in 6th place out of 8 options, so it is slightly less risky. It didn’t come in the last place after all. Along with the trouble spots for 2019, the 2020 Ford F-150 also reports engine trouble and braking issues.
