We have a sneak peek at the Toyota Tacoma ordering guide, which finally sheds more light on what features come with the updated model. We’re still waiting for pricing and details about higher trim levels, but at least some gaps are starting to fill in. Check out how the 2024 Toyota Tacoma begins.

What comes with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is expected to start with the basic SR trim, but it could be the PreRunner. However, the alleged ordering guide we came across starts with the Tacoma SR5 trim. It also lists a few options with the double cab and regular bed. Overall, there are eight options to consider.

But we have to wait a little longer to see what the entry-level model features. It’s available as a Double Cab and two-door Xtra Cab. We already know it’s a basic work truck with an optional backseat to save space, though. It’s pretty basic, with 17-inch steel wheels and black plastic trim pieces.

The Tacoma SR5 spices things up with 17-inch alloy wheels, manual air conditioning, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, heated seats, six-way manual seats, LED headlamps, blind spot warning, and rear-cross traffic alert.

From there, the Tacoma TRD Sport gains aluminum pedals, a sport-tuned suspension, sport fabric seats, a hood scoop, full digital gauges, single-zone automatic air conditioning, a garage door opener, and 400W AC output.

What about 2024 Tacoma TRD features?

With the 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, you get 17-inch off-road alloy wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, downhill assist, crawl control, multi-terrain select, a locking rear differential, LED fog lamps, digital gauges, a garage opener, and 400W AC output.

The TRD Sport+ adds a moonroof, trailer brake controller, heated steering wheel, digital key, side mirror turn signals, a JBL audio system with a portable speaker, a wireless phone charger, and eight-way power-adjustable seats. We hope wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

Then the TRD Sport Premium features a panoramic view monitor, front-side acoustic glass, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Softex seats, ventilated front seats, a 14.0-inch touchscreen, and cast aluminum running boards.

We’re still missing information about the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro, the new Tacoma Trailhunter, the TRD PreRunner, and the Limited models. But the TRD models also have lockable bed storage and a fold-flat passenger seat to provide a work surface.

But Toyota designed the Trailhunter for overlanding with a new Old Man EMU ARB suspension and loaded the TRD Pro with 2.5-inch Fox shocks, Iso-dynamic seats, and an ARB steel rear bumper with recovery hooks.

How much power does the 2024 Tacoma have?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has a standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. It could come with the SR and PreRunner trims.

Moving up to the SR5 and higher trim levels gets you 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque with the six-speed manual transmission. With the eight-speed automatic transmission, you get 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.

With the i-Force Max powertrain, the engine pairs with an electric motor and a 1.87-kWh battery pack to crank out 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. It’s the first Toyota Tacoma Hybrid, and we’re still waiting for the official fuel economy ratings.

The outgoing Tacoma starts with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6 engine for 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque.

How much will the 2024 Tacoma cost?

Pricing for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma hasn’t been released, but the 2023 SR model starts at $28,600. The TRD Pro increases the price to $48,035. These prices don’t include the $1,335 destination fee.

We can speculate that the 2024 Tacoma will have a slight increase to cover the mechanical, tech, and engine upgrades. It could range in price between $30,000 and $50,000. The destination fee may increase as well.

Hopefully, we will learn more soon as 2024 Tacoma models are expected to reach dealerships by January or February. Rumors suggest that production for the non-hybrid models will start in December.

The orderbanks should open soon so production can ramp up. Stay tuned for updates as we track the Tacoma for more information.
