In a shocking development, seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will make a move to Scuderia Ferrari. In doing so, Hamilton will vacate his spot at Mercedes-AMG Petronas after over a decade with the three-pointed star. What’s more, the upset will displace Carlos Sainz Jr. from Scuderia Ferrari, leading fans to contemplate where the Formula 1 driver will land.

Lewis Hamilton will move to Scuderia Ferrari after over 10 years with Mercedes-AMG Petronas

In a move few fans saw coming, Lewis Hamilton will move over to Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 racing season. The news will be confirmed later on Thursday, the first of February 2024. Should he make the move, he’ll replace Carlos Sainz Jr., at the end of the 2024 season.

Furthermore, the move would make Hamilton a partner to Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque will likely stay on with Scuderia Ferrari through the end of 2026, barring some extension of his contract.

Lewis Hamilton has to have Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur. The British racing driver is the most successful F1 driver ever, with over 100 wins to his name. It’s quite the dichotomy to his would-be teammate. Specifically, Leclerc has just five wins in Formula 1.

The move will likely displace Carlos Sainz Jr. from his seat with the Prancing Horse

In yet another upset, Lewis Hamilton’s Scuderia Ferrari move will displace Carlos Sainz Jr. from his seat with the racing team after five seasons. Moreover, the move has fans wondering where the Spanish driver will land after his Ferrari contract.

Speculation suggests that Sainz could end up racing for the upcoming Audi team in 2026, or even make a move to Red Bull Racing. Either way, the landscape of F1 racing in 2025 will be quite different than the last few seasons.
