The Kia Seltos was introduced for the 2021 model year as a slightly larger, more rugged-looking alternative to the also-subcompact Kia Soul. For 2024, the Seltos has been refreshed with a long list of updates, including a new X-Line trim. So, what separates the 2024 Seltos X-Line from the rest of the model lineup?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is now available in 5 trims

The 2024 Kia Seltos is available in five trims. The LX serves as the base model and starts at $24,390. The S model starts at $24,990, with the midrange EX commanding $25,790. Front-wheel drive is standard on all three models, with the all-wheel drive available for the S and EX. The AWD-only SX tops the range at $29,990.

The Seltos has a generous list of standard features. The base model features an 8-inch touchscreen with a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster, while the rest of the lineup sports dual 10.25-inch displays. Other standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a six-speaker audio system, 17-inch wheels, keyless entry, and cloth seats. All models feature forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention warning.

The mid-range EX adds features like a rear center armrest, synthetic leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, heated front seats, a sunroof, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The range-topping SX sports an upgraded drivetrain, Bose audio system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a cargo cover, and more.

The X-Line trim joins the Seltos lineup for 2024

The X-Line moniker is applied to several other Kia SUVs and now joins the Seltos lineup between the midrange EX and range-topping SX. The new X-Line, which replaces the now-defunct Nightfall Edition, comes standard with AWD and costs $28,690.

The X-Line is primarily a more rugged exterior appearance package. The Kia Seltos sports a new front and rear fascia throughout the lineup. Still, the X-Line has some unique features like a gunmetal finish grille, gloss-black 18-inch wheels, gloss-black exterior trim, X-Line badging, font and rear gunmetal skid plates, and a black roof rack.

Aside from its unique exterior design, the X-Line shares most of its components and features with the EX and SX trims.

The Seltos rides into 2024 with new looks inside and out

The 2024 Kia Seltos’ exterior has been tweaked from end to end with a slightly wide front grille, new headlights, revised taillights, and a more rugged lower portion of the front fascia. Two new 17-inch wheel designs are also available.

Inside, all models save for the base Seltos sport dual 10.25-inch displays. Three new interior upholstery options are available: Navy for the X-Line model, brown for the EX and SX trims, and Midnight Green for the SX trim.

The upgraded engine standard in the X-Line and SX models also receives a boost in power. The 1.6-liter, turbo four-cylinder now develops 195 horsepower, 20 more ponies than the previous model, and 195 lb-ft of torque pairing with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The upgraded drivetrain delivers 49 more hp and 63 additional lb-ft of torque over the standard, 2.0-liter inline-four engine.
