Hyundai is hot right now with its top-selling Palisade SUV. However, that doesn’t stop the automaker from offering a limited time discount on one of its much less popular models. Enter the 2023 Hyundai Nexo Blue(it’s a trim and not a color requirement.) Buyers can get a massive discount on the hydrogen-powered car from now until January 2nd. However, it’s not a perfect deal, as charging solutions for fuel cell cars are still few and far between.

According to Kelley Blue Book, Hyundai is offering a $33,000 discount on the 2023 Nexo Blue. This is the entry-level version of the compact SUV. What makes this hydrogen-powered SUV special is that its only emission is water, and it has a range of up to 380 miles. Not only that, but the automaker is offering buyers $15,000 of free fuel. The downside is that hydrogen fuel stations are still rare, as there are only 63 in North America.

Buyers should also note that Hyundai only sells Nexo SUVs in California. This is the case because, besides three stations in Vancouver and one in Quebec, the rest of the North American hydrogen fuel stations are in California. This means that drivers don’t have a ton of options, which also means that the Hyundai Nexo is only a practical option for a small amount of people.

The 2023 Hyundai Nexo uses a 95 kW fuel cell stack and a 40 kWh battery pack. It has a maximum output of 161 horsepower and a torque of 291 lb-ft. The Nexo accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 8.4 seconds.
