Some vehicles scream for your attention; others hide in the crowd with their heads down. The new 2024 Genesis GV60 screams from the front that it’s different from other SUVs. This new compact electric luxury crossover rides on the same E-GMP platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, but does it bring anything interesting to the table? Let’s find out.

The 2024 Genesis GV60 isn’t afraid of bold colors

In a luxury market dominated by back, gray, white, and silver cars, the GV60 hues give this impressive EV a bold look to stand out in the crowd. This is another way it begs for attention, whether it’s finished in Atacama Copper, Barossa Burgundy, Mauna Red, or Hanauma Mint. Of course, drivers could go with the same boring luxury colors but with more interesting options, why stick to the same old, same old?

Does this Genesis EV strike the right interior balance?

For those tired of EVs hitting either end of the styling spectrum, the GV60 strikes the right balance. Often, we see EVs with too many controls and screens or some with extremely minimal styling elements.

Thankfully, Genesis found an excellent balance with this SUV, giving it just the right number of screens, tactile controls, and styling elements. The interior is inviting with good style, and the seats are comfortable. The Standard trim, the base model, comes with heated leatherette seats, but the Advanced trim takes things up a notch with real leather with heating and ventilation.

The GV60 interior is swathed in Obsidian Black or Ash Gray Glacier White. The latter is incredibly attractive but not the right interior color for families with small children.

The GV60 has a crystal ball

It might seem a little gimmicky, but the console’s glowing orb, or crystal ball, is a unique interior feature that begs for your attention. This attractive item presents a bit of elegant styling to an otherwise utilitarian part of the 2024 Genesis GV60. Once the start button is pushed, the orb rotates away. In its place the drive selector appears, illuminated in the chosen ambient light color.

How well does the 2024 Genesis GV60 fit?

Drivers searching for a five-seat electric SUV should put the GV60 high on the list. There’s 37.6 inches of rear legroom to fit adult-sized passengers and 24 cubic feet of cargo room behind these seats. Fold the rear seats, and 54.7 cubic feet of useful cargo room is available. This gives the GV60 more capability to carry more gear or larger items.

What’s the sweet spot of this Genesis EV SUV?

The 2024 GV60 comes in three trims: Standard, Advanced, and Performance. We highlighted the power and driving range figures in a previous post. The sweet spot, as it is in most vehicles, is the middle trim. The Advanced trim strikes the best balance of price, features, power, and driving range, making it the model many drivers might choose.
