The Nissan Pathfinder and Murano are both seemingly similar SUVs that even look almost the same. It can be challenging to tell them apart, but choosing between them is pretty essential for meeting your family and lifestyle needs. Let’s dig into how the Nissan Murano and Pathfinder are different.

How Are The Nissan Pathfinder And the Nissan Murano Different?

The Nissan Pathfinder starts around $31k, making it a reasonably priced option against rivals such as the Dodge Durango. However, the Nissan Murano also starts at about $31k, making it a pricier option up there with the Ford Edge.

The Nissan Murano can seat up to five passengers, but the Pathfinder is a three-row SUV that can seat up to seven or eight passengers. Despite their different sizes, they have a similar fuel economy. Both SUVs get about 20 mpg in the city and up to 27 mpg on the highway.

Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Murano Performance

The Nissan Pathfinder comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that provides 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. It’s pretty powerful and can tow up to 6,000 lb. Plus, the Pathfinder has a pretty quick acceleration with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 7.3 seconds. That’s pretty fast for a larger SUV.

The Nissan Murano also only comes with one engine option available, which is another 3.5-liter V6 engine. Only it’s a little weaker and offers 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. The Murano can only tow up to 1,500 lb, so the Pathfinder is the better option if you have heavier items to pull. Also, the Murano is just as sporty with the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.

Another significant factor to consider is the fact that the Nissan Pathfinder is available in four-wheel-drive. Many three-row SUV options have been switching to all-wheel-drive, so its true 4×4 capability gives it an edge over the competition.
