From a landscaper looking for a hybrid truck to haul materials to a brewery taking kegs and water to local customers, the Maverick gets the job done. In fact, many small business owners use this little truck for both work and family driving duties, making it the affordable option many enjoy driving.

How popular is the Ford Maverick?

The popularity has grown to the point that Ford Motor Company stopped taking orders for the 2022 version of this Ford pickup truck last month. The public is clamoring for the compact qualities the Maverick brings for the drive.

This little truck gives everyone a little of what they want without going overboard. It quickly became one of the top 20 fastest-selling vehicles in the market. The right size, smooth ride, and impressive strength make the Ford Maverick a truck everyone can drive.

It seems Ford has hit the ideal package, pricing, and qualities at just the right time with this truck.

Size

The compact size is ideal for those who drive around town every day, but it’s not so small that it’s not useful. The 4.5-foot bed is designed for DIY add-ons, making it one of the most versatile areas of the truck. The four-door crew cab build of the Maverick allows four people to fit comfortably inside.

Versatility

There’s something for everyone in this truck, from the Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS) to the FlexBed. The FITS allows for 3D printed storage accessories inside the cab that make the job easier for every owner. The bed offers enough size to carry 4×8 sheets of wood along with several locations to tie cargo down. You’ll also find a pair of outlets to plug in power tools in the bed.

How much does this compact truck cost?

The starting price of the Ford Maverick is $19,995 for the XL trim. If you add all the trimmings to this truck, you’ll pay $37,000, which is still a relatively affordable price when considering what you’re getting in the Maverick.

What are the power options of the 2022 Ford Maverick?

Standard models give you a 2.5-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine plus a 94-kW battery pack to be a hybrid truck. The power is 191 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque with the FWD powertrain returning 42 city/33 hwy mpg. You can tow up to 2,000 with this base powertrain and proudly display the fact you’re driving a hybrid truck.

If you need AWD, more towing, and want more power, you’ll find another option with the Maverick. The upgraded powertrain gives you a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 250 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Select an FWD model, and you have 23 city/30 hwy mpg, or choose AWD, and you’ll enjoy 22 city/29 hwy mpg. This powertrain increases the towing capacity to 4,000 pounds.

Will you drive a Ford Maverick?

Currently, there are only two trucks in the compact class: the Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Maverick is more affordable at every level than the Santa Cruz. So far, this little Ford truck is the talk of the town, so to speak, and is the truck many business owners rely upon when they need to get work done.
