If the Ford Raptor and Ford Tremor were the same truck, wouldn’t Ford combine the name to Raptor Tremor or Tremor Raptor? You would think so. The Raptor and Tremor are two different trucks that are certainly related. In an effort to capitalize on the desire for off-road trucks, Ford has a third option for you. The F-150 lineup now includes the FX4 package, Tremor, and Raptor models, all made for some serious 4×4 driving.

  • High-output EcoBoost V6 engine
  • Fox off-road shocks
  • Electronic locking rear differential
  • Terrain Management System with special off-road drive modes
  • BFGoodrich all-terrain tires

The Raptor name represents the top of off-road driving, and this truck can tackle the toughest trails while being extremely impressive when you find a desert you want to cross.

According to MotorTrend, the Ford Raptor delivers what you want with a strong V6 engine, race-inspired style, and a high-tech cabin that offers you lots of room to be comfortable.

  • Trail Control
  • Unique appearance package

Compared to other F-150 models, the Tremor sits higher and wider, giving this truck the stance you want when you take it out on the trails. The Tremor offers impressive off-road angles that serious drivers appreciate. These angles are:

Engine Power

For those looking for performance differences, you’ll see them in the engine. Both trucks use a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. The Raptor uses a High-Output version of this engine to give you 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. The Tremor doesn’t reach these numbers but does have 400 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque.

Interior Design

Another difference you’ll find is in the cabin area. The Raptor has a unique interior cabin filled with race-inspired qualities. Much of the inspiration for the Ford F-150 Raptor comes from rally trucks used to race across desert courses.

Conversely, the Ford F-150 Tremor gives you a similar cabin to what you find across much of the other F-150 models in the market. This means you’ll have a familiar place filled with rugged features for your off-road experiences.

Towing and Payload

When it comes to getting work done, the Tremor offers greater payload and towing numbers than what you find in the Raptor. The Raptor gives you 8,200 pounds of towing and 1,400 pounds of payload, while the Tremor reaches 10,900 pounds of towing and 1,885 pounds of payload.

How much do these Ford F-150 models cost?

Which off-road Ford F-150 should you drive?

If you want off-road capabilities but need your truck to handle heavy work during the week, the F-150 Tremor is the right Ford truck for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for the truck that delivers the most complete package for off-road adventures, the F-150 Raptor has what you want.
