The Ford F-150 is the best-selling pickup truck in the market. This truck ranges in price from $30,495 to $76,595, making the top trim more expensive than the Silverado. For 2022, Ford introduced the all-electric Lightning model to give consumers another option. Cab options are similar to the regular cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew versions. Bed lengths are 5’6” and 8’. Yes, the Silverado pickup with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbocharged diesel six-cylinder engine and ten-speed automatic transmission gives you the best fuel economy rating. This powertrain is good for 23 city/31 hwy mpg in RWD models and 22 city/26 hwy mpg in 4WD versions.

The closest the F-150 can get to the Silverado is with the hybrid powertrain. This powertrain is a 3.5liter twin-turbocharged V6 plus electric motor attached to a ten-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy numbers reach 25 city/29 hwy mpg in RWD models and 24 city/24 hwy mpg for 4WD versions.

Which half-ton truck tows the most?

Using the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine found in the Ford F-150 Raptor and Limited trims can tow up to 14,000 pounds. This engine is optional for other trims and delivers the highest tow rating in the half-ton truck market.

The payload for the Ford F-150 arrives at 2,900 pounds, another class-leading number.

Moving to the Chevy Silverado, the highest tow rating is with the Duramax diesel powertrain. This setup allows you up to 13,300 pounds of towing, giving you the strength you need during a drive.
