It’s not every day that you cruise a highway and see a Detroit Lions-liveried Dodge Challenger. However, it’s even less likely that you’ll bump into the NFL team homage muscle car on the streets of Arizona. Well, that’s exactly the case for one distance Detroit Lions fan and his tire-vaporizing Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack.

On the precipice of a Super Bowl spot, the Detroit Lions have a 485-horsepower fan in this Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack

A post-facelift Dodge Challenger with an R/T Scat Pack badge is a presence. It doesn’t look entirely dissimilar from the V6-powered Challenger GT or HEMI-powered R/T. However, with 485 horsepower courtesy of a 6.4L V8, it’s one of the most powerful naturally aspirated (N/A) muscle cars ever.

From bow to stern, the Challenger is Lions’ Blue with team graphics throughout. What’s more, the fan and Challenger owner doesn’t live anywhere near the Motor City. Instead, he cruises the 101 Loop around Phoenix, Arizona. It’s conspicuous, even for a muscle car. However, the Challenger’s bold statement is that much louder in Phoenix, considering the state is Arizona Cardinals territory.

Still, the Challenger remains unscathed behind enemy lines. Furthermore, the owner told Fox 10 Phoenix that the car is popular in the Grand Canyon State. To be fair, he suggested that the Scat Pack’s appeal is in its story and the fact that it represents deep-seated loyalty. In fact, the driver says that he met his wife through some good-hearted ribbing over his Lions fandom. Their daughter even calls the Mopar brute the “Kitty Cat Car.”

The Lions-loving Scat Pack owner is hopeful the Detroit NFL team snags a spot in the Super Bowl. It’d be an accomplishment as big as a HEMI V8; the team has never played in the big game. Either way, the “Kitty Cat Car” will be lighting its tires for the Lions.
