Can the New Ford F-150 Interior Compete With the ‘Pampering’ Ram 1500?

The excellent Ram 1500 pickup truck is at the top of its game. In order to keep up with the pick, Ford revamped its F-150 flagship for 2021. Both are good trucks, but the 2021 Ram 1500 is acclaimed for its luxurious interior. Is the new Ford F-150 interior improved enough to compete with the ‘pampering’ Ram?

“Competition is fierce in the full-sized pickup truck arena as Ford launches its all-new warrior, the redesigned 2021 F-150.”

Consumer Reports

The 2021 Ford F-150 has ever been an American favorite. Its sales numbers are honestly ridiculous––and Ford isn’t afraid to talk about the success of this beloved model. But the Ram 1500 has seriously upped its ante in this competitive class full of good trucks.

The ‘pampering’ Ram 1500

This truck is at the top of too many lists to count. Among other good trucks in the field, the 2021 Ram 1500 is smooth and luxurious. It’s an absolute standout in its class. It meets all the needs of a pickup truck in terms of towing and payload capacities.

In addition, the 2021 Ram 1500 offers several interior packages. There’s a reason why Consumer Reports describes this pickup truck as ‘pampering.’ It’s a nice smooth, spacious, and inviting ride in every trim––and not just for a pickup truck. The Ram 1500 pickup truck is an absolute all-rounder––just a bit larger than your average car or crossover.

Can the new Ford F-150 interior compete?

Due to all of the attention that the 2021 Ram 1500 is getting for its increasingly on-point interior, the 2021 Ford F-150 volleyed back with some sweet updates. Of course, the new hybrid powertrain is welcome. But for now, let’s focus on the cabin.

Consumer Reports writes that the most apparent improvements on the previously outgoing F-150 are in the interior. There are cool personal touches and tech-rich innovations throughout. American flags and 3-D maps of Detroit are icing on a cake that was well thought out.

In fact, Consumer Reports writes of the new Ford F-150 interior “looks like it can compete with the pampering Ram 1500.” We’ll have to drive the two side by side before passing our own judgment. But hearing other auto critics say such things certainly piques our interest.

What’s new inside the 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck?

There’s an option to upgrade from the standard updated 8-inch display to a 12-inch horizontal dash screen. There are animated indicators of different modes and settings across the gauge cluster. The 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck seems to have received an interior overhaul, and we aren’t mad about it.

The new F-150 interior still rides on a leaf suspension. So that means it’s still not as smooth as the Ram 1500 pickup truck, which sits on a coil spring suspension and is noted for its buttery ride. That being said, however, the Ford truck has a better interior in its 2021 model year than ever before.

The center console can turn into a table for drafting, lunching, work on the laptop––or any yet undetermined uses. The top three trims offer recliner seats for resting in Park. From tech to table, this flagship Ford pickup is better than any of its previous models. In a playing field of several good trucks, the F-150 interior might actually give the 2021 Ram 1500 pickup truck a run for its money.
