When Edmunds reviewed this SUV, 2019 was one of the best used Acura MDX years in recent history. Some of the positive attributes include the standard safety features and driver aids, including the SH-AWD system for all-season traction. The cabin is quiet and spacious.

Lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera system are just a few of the safety systems included. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2019 Acura MDX a five-star safety rating. Important tests like the frontal barrier crash and side crash tests received five-star ratings. These reasons make 2019 one of the best used Acura MDX years to look for.

List Price Range: $27,855 – $46,998

2015 was another one of the best used Acura MDX years

Edmunds reported that the 2015 MDX still had many positives, such as capable handling and good fuel economy. It also offered quick acceleration and a quiet cabin. With three rows of space, the 2015 version is a good option for road trips and long drives.

Edmunds calls it “livable, luxurious and a whole lot of fun.” Antilock brakes, tons of airbags, and stability control help make this a safe SUV choice. Most SUVs in 2015 didn’t have a lot of standard safety features, but lane-departure and blind-spot warning were optional. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2015 Acura MDX the Top Safety Pick Plus award.

List Price Range: $19,639 – $31,990

Avoid the 2018 version of this Acura sport utility vehicle

The 2018 Acura MDX shares many positive attributes with the other options on this list but comes up short in a few areas. Edmunds says the cabin feels less luxurious than some of the MDX’s competition. In 2018, the automatic start and stop function was still clunky. While it had adaptive cruise control, it didn’t work very well.

With that said, it was still a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS. Lane-keeping assist was an added safety feature, and a surround-view camera helped with visibility. Owners report issues with the engine and transmission. Plus, the NHTSA issued five recalls for the 2016 to 2018 MSX. For the price difference, the 2018 version had more hiccups than the 2019 version.

List Price Range: $25,998 – $40,990

There are a lot of good options to choose from for the best used Acura MDX years, but the best one is the one you can find. Due to supply chain issues and semiconductor chip shortages, popular vehicles like the MDX can be expensive and hard to find. If you find a low mileage option for a reasonable price, that’s the best option. Don’t be afraid to expand your search outside your immediate area, a dealership a few hours away might offer a better deal.
