The best-selling Nissan SUV needs a new face to save its life
It’s no secret that new tariffs have been throwing automakers through a loop. As they adapt to increasing costs, brands like Nissan need to quickly increase sales. That’s why big changes to its best-selling SUV could make or break it.
The best-selling Nissan SUV is getting an overhaul
Do you know what the best-selling Nissan SUV is? Why, it’s the Nissan Rogue, of course. As tariffs, rising costs, and sales declines rock the automaker, the Rogue shines as a glimmer of hope.
According to CarScoops, the Rogue will be redesigned for 2027 to better fight rival SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Based on rumors and teaser images, it’s safe to expect a bold new style.
It could be boxier with more rugged confidence and sharper edges. It will adopt futuristic LED headlights that accent a larger grille. The squared-off tailgate might get wrap-around LED taillights to complete the fresh look.
This Nissan SUV is expected to borrow interior styling cues from the Ariya EV and Murano. This means it will have a clean tech layout with dual widescreen displays and limited physical controls.
It’s expected to have more upscale materials. Plus, rumors suggest that it could gain passenger and cargo space. The Rogue is already quieter and smoother than the RAV4, though.
Also, the Rogue will finally catch up to rivals by going hybrid again. It should debut with a new hybrid powertrain, then a PHEV or plug-in hybrid powertrain will arrive a little later. It might borrow the PHEV powertrain from the Mitsubishi Outlander.
