5 SUVs that won’t last 100,000 miles
Several people are in the market for the best vehicles to buy, and many want SUVs. However, as auto mechanics know, not all SUVs are built to withstand the test of time. Recently, one popular mechanic took to his social media platform to reveal five popular options that won’t make it to 100,000 miles without intense repairs. Naturally, Jeep vehicles have a presence on this list.
Some of the most popular SUVs aren’t the best to buy
There’s no denying that most people consider SUVs the best vehicles to buy. This is proven by the fact that they have become the most popular vehicle segment, surpassing sedans. Of course, buyers have all sorts of options- compact, midsize, large, and many lump crossovers and wagons with standard SUVs. The problem is that some of the most popular options on the market rack up expensive repair bills with auto mechanics. Recently, TikTok user Zach Trahan used the platform to list five less-than-stellar SUVs.
The Jeep Cherokee may not be among the best SUVs to buy
The first SUV on Zach’s list is the Jeep Cherokee. Of course, many think this is one of the best SUVs for people to buy because it is so popular. Debunking this, Zach says that the Jeep Cherokee lives in the shop. He says drivers will more than likely experience issues such as engine failure before the vehicle reaches the 100,000-mile mark. Zach also highlights its electrical issues. Unfortunately, the same is true for other Jeep vehicles.
The Dodge Journey helped bring down the automaker’s reputation
Next up is the Dodge Journey. According to Zach, “the only journey you’re going to be taking with this car is to the mechanic shop.” He goes on to say that it’s absolute junk and that it’s not one of the best SUVs for people to buy who want a vehicle that will actually run.
The Kia Seltos is…problematic
Some consider the Kia Seltos one of the best SUVs to buy because it’s affordable. Zach says that the Kia Seltos has many issues that make it not worth its relatively inexpensive price. He says there are even instances of them randomly shutting off while driving.
The GMC Yukon/ Chevy Tahoe
The fourth entry on the list is actually two SUVs that many consider the best to buy because of their longevity on the market. Regarding the GMC Yukon and the Chevrolet Tahoe, Zach says that the 6.2-liter engines have significant issues that make them unreliable. These vehicles also have DOD and crank bearing failures. It’s also important to note that these are fairly expensive SUVs.
Land Rover
The last entry is an entire brand, and it is Land Rover. This isn’t breaking news, as auto mechanics worldwide warn drivers about the potential for significant issues with these vehicles; still, many drivers searching for luxury swear by them.
