Remember when pickup trucks were featureless, tech-free work vehicles? A cabin just small enough to fit a driver and one or two passengers and a big cargo bed. That’s all it took to make a good pickup truck for driving to a job site every day. However, in 2022, that’s not the case anymore. Pickups are as lovely on the inside as they are capable on the outside. Moreover, many are compared to luxury SUVs in terms of comfort, equipment, and even ride smoothness. Here are five luxury pickup trucks you’ll love driving to work.

1. Ram 1500 Limited luxury pickup truck

Ram’s full-size pickup offering is widely considered the most comfortable in its class. According to Forbes, the Limited 10th Anniversary package only made it better. The publication calls the Ram 1500 “the smoothest-riding and quietest full-size half-ton pickup on the market.” If you’re interested in the luxurious Limited trim level, it’ll cost you $62,390. Adding the 10th Anniversary package raises the price by $2,145.

The optional package adds quilted leather seating and door inserts, real wood and metal trim, a suede headliner, a jeweled shifter, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 19-speaker premium sound system. Furthermore, this is in addition to the standard Uconnect 5 infotainment system, 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and much more. Critics agree, however, that the highlight of the Ram 1500 Limited is its lavish interior and shockingly smooth ride.

2. Ford F-150 Limited

Ford’s luxury trim level for the best-selling pickup is much more expensive than Ram’s option of the same name. However, Forbes noted that it comes decked out with everything buyers could ever need. Buying the F-150 Limited is an excellent one-and-done purchase, as additional packages aren’t necessary. Most importantly, it starts at $76,030, including the destination fee.

What makes the Ford F-150 Limited worth the price tag? Firstly, standard is a leather-lined interior, a dual-pane sunroof, and adaptive cruise control. Next, the entire suite of Ford 360 safety and driver assistance features, a tow package, and 22-inch wheels come with every F-150 Limited. The only things worth adding are four-wheel drive and the V6 hybrid powertrain, which cost an additional $3,425 and $1,900, respectively.

The name Denali is widely known to be synonymous with luxury. The 2022 GMC Sierra pickup truck is no different. Each Denali Ultimate comes with a 420 horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 engine. In addition, the six-way MultiPro tailgate is one of the best new features. Inside, owners will find genuine wood accents, full-grain leather seats that are 16-way adjustable with massaging capability in the front, and a power sunroof. Next, GM’s Super Cruise driver assistance technology is standard, along with the 12-speaker Bose audio system and much more.

Using the same philosophy as the F-150 Limited, no additional packages are necessary. However, the Sierra Denali Ultimate will cost you an arm and a leg. This luxury pickup truck will cost you $80,395, making it one of the most expensive options available. Although, by the time the same features are purchased through packages for cheaper models, they nearly all end up in the same price range.

4. Toyota Tundra Capstone

This luxury pickup truck is entirely new to the lineup for 2022. At the tippy-top of the Tundra lineup, the Capstone model is the Lexus of pickup trucks. Each model uses a FORCE MAX 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine, so fuel economy isn’t bad for a full-size pickup. Inside, 10-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats make passengers as comfortable as possible. Combine that with genuine walnut accents, a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled rear seats, and an acoustic laminated windshield and side windows, and you’ve got yourself a quiet, comfortable, luxurious ride.

Forbes called Toyota’s infotainment system “top-tier,” It includes a 14-inch touchscreen, 12 JBL speakers, and every Toyota safety and driver assistance feature available. Lastly, the entire thing sits on 22-inch chrome and machined wheels, which will turn heads. Toyota’s Capstone Hybrid luxury pickup truck is an excellent option and starts at $75,225, according to Car and Driver.

5. Chevy Silverado High Country luxury pickup truck

In the past, the Chevy Silverado wasn’t known for being luxurious. However, that’s all beginning to change. While it isn’t a better option than others on this list, it’s much improved for 2022. Improvements include new touchscreens and software, an increased towing capacity for models with the diesel engine, and a standard suite of safety gear. Inside the High Country, customers receive real wood console trim, leather upholstery with detailed stitching in Jet Black or Nightshift Blue, and a standard Bose audio system.

Moreover, GM’s Super Cruise driver assistance technology is available but not included. Forbes noted that for the first part of 2022, the previous model, the Silverado 1500 LTD, still exists because of the microchip shortage. In short, those looking for a real luxury pickup truck should wait. In the spring of 2022, the High Country will enter showrooms and cost a surprisingly low $58,495.

Luxury pickup trucks you’ll love driving to work

Anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped pickup truck with capability should purchase one of these five. Each model is expensive but rides and feels like a luxury model inside. Even someone needing a truck for work purposes can get everything they need from one of these models. Moreover, Ram, Ford, GMC, Toyota, and Chevy have a wide range of trucks in their respective lineups. If luxury pickups aren’t right for you, more affordable options are available.
