If you’ve seen a McLaren 765LT in action, you’ll already know that it is one of the quickest brand-new cars money can buy. However, for some McLaren owners, 755 hp simply isn’t enough. Given this car’s robust turbocharged engine, it is eager to produce even more power via modifications.

This is where Hennessey Performance comes in with its newest HPE1000 upgrade. As the name suggests, this upgrade will push your car’s output up to 1000 hp. As you can imagine, such an increase provides some seriously striking performance figures.

How fast is a standard McLaren 765LT?

Before diving into these new Hennessey Performance upgrades, let’s look at the standard McLaren 765LT first. Powering this limited-edition supercar is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. Total power output is rated at 755 hp and 590 lb-ft. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends all of the available power to the rear wheels exclusively.

As a result of these figures, this McLaren delivered impressive results during Car and Driver’s tests. The 765LT reached 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds and 100 mph in 5.0 seconds. Car and Driver’s tester completed the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds. However, it is worth bringing up that Car and Driver didn’t test this supercar on a drag strip with a prepped surface.

If a McLaren 765LT with 755-hp and a nine-second quarter-mile time isn’t fast enough, Hennessey is ready to help.

Hennessey will gladly give you 1000hp

As its name suggests, the HPE1000 performance upgrade pack pushes your McLaren 765LT’s power output to 1000hp. In fact, company CEO John Hennessey had this to say about the upgrade.

“The new 765LT is underrated from the factory. We tested it on our in-house dyno, and it delivered about 765 HP – at the rear wheels. This means it’s producing closer to 865 bhp in bone stock form,”

Aside from delivering on its name, an underrated McLaren 765LT could easily explain why those performance figures are so impressive. However, Hennessey has some impressive claims of what the upgrades can reportedly achieve.

“Upgrading the 765LT to 1,000 HP will drop the 0-60 mph time to just 2.1 seconds, which is just nuts.”

How much does this kit cost?

As you can imagine, reaching 1000 hp isn’t a walk in the park. As a result, this McLaren 765LT pack includes plenty of upgrades. In terms of physical modifications, you get high-flow air filters, stainless steel downpipes, and new gaskets and fluids. The pack also includes an ECU re-calibration and all of the labor associated with installing it.

In case you want to show off a bit, this performance upgrade pack also brings plenty of emblems and plaques throughout the car to let everyone know that your McLaren 765LT is extra special.

If this all sounds expensive, you’re correct. According to Hennessey, this pack will cost you $24,950. However, given that it’s going on a car worth $400,000, it certainly shouldn’t scare any of these wealthy owners.
