Many Americans were first introduced to the pickup truck in 1925 when Ford released the Model T Roundabout. Since that time, pickup trucks have become a staple in this country. Not only can trucks be fun to drive, but are also built to be more rugged and durable than most other vehicles. Pickups are perfect for both work and play.

Trucks have definitely come a long way since the early 20th century. The truck has evolved from just another vehicle to a useful tool that is needed for everyday life. Safety, comfort, and fuel efficiency are all important features that today’s consumers are looking for.

The truck manufacturers have definitely taken this into account when designing a new generation of trucks for the 2020 year. Starting next year, trucks will be more luxurious than anything that we have ever seen before.

Ford F-150 Electric

Ford is taking one of its most popular trucks and turning it into an all-electric vehicle. It is unclear when this eco-friendly vehicle will be available to the public, but the camouflaged prototype has already been spotted a few times around town.

Recently, Ford announced that it would be investing $500 million and teaming up with Rivian in an effort to create a new line of EV vehicles. Ford has already announced that it will be creating an electric Mustang, but many people were pleasantly surprised to learn that the company will also be incorporating an all-electric motor to its popular pickup.

According to Jim Farley, the president of Ford’s global market, says that coming up with an EV F-150 was a logical choice because it helps to make the truck more appealing to a wider range of consumers. “F-series core strength at the end of the day is: There’s a truck for every customer and we know our customers really, really well,” Farley said at the North American International Auto Show.

Jeep Gladiator

The new 2020 Jeep Gladiator gives you the power, style, and off-road capabilities that the Jeep Wrangler delivers but also added in a five-foot bed in the back to help you haul all of your cargo. The Gladiator will be available in four different trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon.

All trim levels will come with your choice of either a hard or soft top and a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower. 

2020 GMC Sierra HD

GMC has decided to take its already rugged and versatile truck up a notch. According to Motor1, the new Sierra HD will feature a more stylish and convenient exterior. The built-in side-step located behind the rear passenger doors, and the available tailgate step, help to make the bed of the truck more easily accessible.

For the 2020 model, GMC is also adding a new addition to the Sierra HD lineup. The 2020 Sierra AT4 Heavy-Duty that was specially designed to give you a more adventurous off-road experience. The 2-speed AutoTrac transfer case allows the truck to automatically switch between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive. This will help you maintain traction on various road conditions.

Rivian R1T

The Rivian R1T combines power and eco-friendly features together to bring what is sure to be one of the most sought-after all-electric trucks. This truck comes equipped with an impressive amount of power. According to Inside EVs, the R1T is capable of going from zero to 100 in 7 seconds and is capable of traveling 400 miles on a single charge.

The truck is outlined in smooth curves that are accented by the unique narrow headlights. These headlights give this vehicle a futuristic look. The R1T is set to hit the market sometime next year.
