The 2022 Kia Telluride SUV | Kia

2022 Kia Telluride is one of the most popular and “most satisfying” SUVs on the market right now. Consumer Reports says it has three rows, room for tons of people, and plenty of active safety and driver assistance features to keep everyone safe. Plus, the Telluride has high scores on the road test, reliability, and owner satisfaction. Forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot warning (BSW) are all standard on the Kia Telluride. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2022 Telluride the Top Safety Pick award.

Price Range: $33,390 – $45,190

Hyundai’s Palisade is another new midsize SUV to seek out

When it comes to the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, the SUV is very similar to the Telluride. The Palisade has high scores for the road test, reliability, and owner satisfaction. Owners reported being satisfied with the driving experience and comfort of the Hyundai SUV. FCW, BSW, and AEB are standard on this new vehicle. The IIHS gave the 2022 Palisade the Top Safety Pick Plus award.

Price Range: $33,600 – $48,990

Looking for a luxury option? Check out the BMW X5

While the 2022 BMW X5 jumps in price a bit, it is still a new midsize SUV to seek out. It came in first on the list of luxury midsize SUVs and performed well on the road test. The predicted reliability score was about average for the BMW SUV. FCW, LDW, BSW, and rear cross-traffic warning (RCTW) are standard on the 2022 X5. While it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also gave it good scores.

Price Range: $60,600 – $106,100

The Jeep Wrangler is a new midsize SUV that didn’t win any awards

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler came in last out of the ranked new midsize SUVs. It didn’t impress Consumer Reports on the road test or in reliability. The predicted owner satisfaction is high, as it always is with Jeep SUVs. Reliability isn’t a strong suit for the Jeep Wrangler, but it does everything else well. Jeep’s Wrangler SUV is off-road capable but struggles a bit with everyday life. The typical safety features like FCW, BSW, and AEB are only optional. Regarding safety features, the 2022 Wrangler didn’t win any awards. It has some good scores from the IIHS and NHTSA, but not many.

Price Range: $29,995 – $79,595

The Jeep Wrangler isn’t a bad new midsize SUV, but it might not provide the same stress-free ownership some buyers are looking for. Jeep enthusiasts will rejoice at the sight of the Wrangler, but the everyday driver might be happier in the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, or BMW X5.
