The 2025 Lincoln Star could potentially be one of the best luxury electric SUVs on the market. The Star is likely to be a more refined version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Here’s why consumers should be excited about the 2025 Lincon Star.

The 2025 Lincoln Star has been teased by Ford’s luxury division. The Lincoln Star is expected to arrive sometime in 2024 as a 2025 model year. With 2022 rapidly coming to a close, we aren’t too far away from the first fully electric luxury Lincoln SUV.

Though little is known about the 2025 Lincoln Star, fans can assume that the electric SUV will have star power because of the success of its older cousin, the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Mustang Mach-E blazed a trail for the Lincoln Star to follow.

The electric Mustang SUV was initially met with plenty of skepticism, but it rose to the top of its vehicle segment in 2021. The Lincoln Star has the potential to rapidly rise in popularity as well in its own respective vehicle segment. The luxury electric SUV segment is even less populated than the electric SUV space.

Automakers like Tesla, Audi, and BMW have competitive models in the luxury electric SUV space. Lincoln’s edge will be the Star’s connection to the Mach-E. The Mustang Mach-E is bold, exciting, and most importantly, it’s quick. The Lincoln Star could offer the same range and power as upper Mach-E trim levels with an even more luxurious cabin and better standard features.

The ideal Lincoln Star configurations would be based on two Ford Mustang Mach-E trims, the Mach-E California Route 1 and Mach-E GT. The 2022 Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 has an incredible 314 miles of max driving range. The Mach-E GT can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds.

If Lincoln offered the star in two different trim levels that were based on the California Route 1’s impressive range and the Mach-E GT’s quick acceleration, the luxury automaker could have a hit on its hands.

According to Car and Driver, the 2025 Lincoln Star should have a starting price of around $70,000. It is likely to have at least 270 miles of driving range and around 346 horsepower based on the Mach-E GT and Cali Route 1 specs.

Expect premium cabin materials and advanced driver assistance and safety features. The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E is experiencing some reliability issues, so the Blue Oval’s luxury division should have those issues ironed out if the Lincoln Star is closely based on the Mach-E.
