The Kia Telluride is one of the most popular SUVs in the industry. The midsize three-row model’s claim to fame has a lot to do with the value it provides for the money. It saw a huge price bump for the 2023 model year. Now, the 2024 model year is only slightly more expensive, but its destination fees make it pretty pricey. Here’s everything we know about the 2024 Kia Telluride so far at the time of publishing, including cost, engine, and features.

When it comes to the 2024 Kia Telluride, the first question on the minds of consumers is, how much does it cost? Part of the Telluride’s overall appeal is its affordability compared to many rivals. Its starting price is cheap for a three-row midsize SUV. Factor in its many standard features and creature comforts, and the South Korean SUV is a steal. Unfortunately, the latest model year will be the most expensive iteration yet, but not by much.

According to Kia, the 2024 Kia Telluride LX base model starts at $35,990 ($37,355 with its destination fee). It costs about $330 more than the 2023 base model. As a result, its styling updates are minor at best, which makes sense considering the minimal price change.

One of the most notable changes to the nameplate is the addition of amber daytime running lights to every configuration. All the changes to the Telluride across its configurations are minor cosmetic details. The 2023 Telluride’s update is significantly more impactful in terms of tweaks and additions.

What is the 2024 Kia Telluride engine?

Kia’s three-row midsize SUV has a powerful standard engine that sets it apart from many rivals. The 2024 Kia Telluride continues to use a mighty 3.8-liter V6 to make 291 horses and 262 lb-ft of torque. It gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2024 Kia Telluride does not include any major mechanical changes or alterations, and that’s just fine with consumers. Drivers enjoy the SUV’s power output and have learned to live with its decent fuel economy. Its powertrain is perfectly suitable for its target audience. Some drivers wouldn’t be opposed to a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain option, but Hyundai Motor Company offers plenty of electrified options across its portfolio of brands.

The upcoming Kia EV9 shares many characteristics with the Telluride. Since the three-row midsize SUV is already powerful and its fuel economy isn’t terrible, there hasn’t been a huge public outcry for a plug-in hybrid option (yet).

The new Telluride still has excellent features

Kia doesn’t have to do much to win consumers over with the new Telluride. The 2024 model year comes standard with SynTex seat trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a smart key with push-button start. It also comes with smart cruise control with stop and go, rear parking sensors, and a driver attention warning. Excellent features like these at a relatively affordable price have become synonymous with the Telluride nameplate.

The Telluride remains one of the best values in its segment despite its pricing increase. Toyota and Mazda are producing new three-row models to compete with Kia’s popular SUV. Can any midsize model dethrone the Telluride?
