The 2024 Honda Civic Type R is one of the best sports cars for the price. However, the 2024 Acura Integra Type S is also a solid option for people seeking a more powerful version of a beloved nameplate. So, which should you go with, and how do they differ? Of course, many people will go with the 2023 Honda Civic Type R as it’s cheaper than a new car.

Here’s a look into how the 2024 Honda Civic Type R is different from the Integra Type S.

The 2024 Honda Civic Type R is among the best affordable sports cars for speed

The 2024 Honda Civic Type R and the new Integra Type S are both among the best sports cars. However, they offer two different experiences when it comes to performance. According to Honda, the new Civic Type R uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC engine that makes 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It delivers its power via a six-speed manual transmission. The 2023 Honda Civic Type R is just as powerful.

Regarding the 2024 Acura Integra Type S, it has a turbocharged 2.0-liter with a maximum output of 320 horsepower and a torque of 310 lb-ft. This is a front-wheel drive car, and like the Civic, it uses a six-speed manual.

The 2024 Type R comes out on top in terms of speed. According to some road tests, this model accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.9 seconds. The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is also no slouch, as it takes about 5.2 seconds for the feat. However, these two cars are still pretty different as the Civic performs well on the streets and the track, whereas the Type S is for the roads.

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is better for comfort

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is a better car to use as a daily driver. This doesn’t mean the Civic Type R isn’t great in this regard, but it does mean that the Acura is the more comfortable of the two. Perhaps the one way this is not the case is seating, as the Civic arguably has better seats. However, one thing the Integra has is more sound reduction technology.

Both cars also excel when it comes to interior technology. Each uses a 9-inch full-color infotainment display that’s responsive and advanced. Buyers can also count on impressive sound systems for both vehicles, but the Integra is a tad bit better. It has a standard 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D setup, whereas the Type R has a 12-speaker Bose system.

Both are among the best sports cars of this level. However, many people view the Integra as the more grown-up version of the Type R. In a nutshell, those looking for a sportier option should go with the Honda, but those who value increased comfort will probably pick the Acura. The Type R starts at $44,795, and the Type S has an MSRP of $50,800.
