According to Green Car Reports, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X comes with a free year of unlimited fast charging. All you have to do is charge your bZ4X model at an all EVgo public fast-charging station.

Reportedly, EVgo is the only charging network powered by 100 percent renewable energy. There are 800 public DC fast-charging locations with Level 2 chargers included in its network. However, the Toyota agreement specifies that it’s for fast charging.

Toyota bZ4X owners can access free charging with the Toyota app. In an effort to increase its network, EVgo has offered more DC fast charging options within popular metro areas. Over 130 million people in the United States liver within 10 miles of an EV go fast charger.

General Motors has partners with EVgo to triple the size of its charging network by 2025 with 3,250 new charging stalls to cover 52 metropolitan markets.

EVgo also realizes the EV drivers are diverse. Busy commuters may want to add more miles than usual to their daily routines. So EVgo added a reservation program to allow drivers to save a specific date and time for $3.00

How fast does the bZ4X charge?

With a DC fast charger, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X can replenish 80 percent of its charge in about 30 minutes. If you use a home outlet or a Level 1 charger, it will take about 19 hours to fully recharge the lithium-ion battery. You can also have a Level 2 charger with 240 volts installed at home.

The bZ4X is available with solar panels on the roof to provide about 1,000 miles of added range per year. On that note, the lithium-ion battery pack is integrated into the SUV floor.

You can opt for two different powertrains with the Toyota bZ4X. The single-motor variant with front-wheel drive provides about a 250-mile range with a 201 hp output. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.4 seconds.

With the dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, you get up to 230 miles of range with 215 hp. This model is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.7 seconds. This is on par with rivals such as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Volkswagen ID.4.

The official price for the 2023 Toyota bZ4X hasn’t been released, but it’s expected to start at about $36,000. Based on the photos we’ve seen, the bZ4X will provide a luxurious interior with a futuristic design.

It’s about the size of the RAV4 with a digital gauge cluster, a large infotainment screen, and a wide center console. We hope that wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. A wireless phone charger and head-up display could be available too.

Standard safety features will probably include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control.

We will keep you updated as we learn more about the Toyota bZ4X. More information should roll out in the next couple of months.
