People nowadays rely on their smartphones for a lot of things. Therefore, having a way to do that safely is a welcome idea. Apple CarPlay was introduced in 2014 and became a game changer. The technology changed how motorists enjoyed the roads, giving drivers more connectivity without requiring them to use their hands to operate the phone.

Since its inception, Apple CarPlay has been improving and has allowed motorists to enjoy their favorite podcasts and songs, made navigation easy, showed weather, and allowed drivers to make and receive phone calls without having to take their eyes off the road.

Not many manufacturers wanted to utilize the integration when it first came around. However, as time passed, they realized how necessary it was as buyers began considering vehicles with the integration. For this reason, automakers took things a step further by integrating the system into the infotainment system and ensuring it works without a hitch.

Recently, the technology has undergone yet another major upgrade. Apple announced iOS 16, which includes some impressive upgrades that will effectively change how the technology integrates with infotainment in the future, starting in late 2023.

So what’s in store? The upgrade means that Apple CarPlay will work on every screen in your vehicle and isn’t limited to just the main infotainment display. With the upgrade, users have increased integration and functionality.

The technology will mirror your phone and allow you to handle every aspect of your car in real time. You’ll be able to control heated seating, display trim time, show the weather, display battery levels for your EV or hybrid, and show navigation.
