It has a 3.5-inch suspension lift which raises the ground clearance up to around 10.0-inches. It features a 2.75-inch wider track and rides on 16-inch wheels wrapped in 30.5-inch Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse all-terrain tires. 

These features will make it harder to get stuck in the mud. Plus, each Transit Trail model comes with standard all-wheel drive. It has five selectable drive modes for adventuring, including Normal, Eco, Mud/Ruts, Tow/Haul, and Slippery. 

The Ford Transit Trail comes with a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that churns out 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque to power over obstacles. When properly equipped, the van can tow up to 6,500 lbs. This is plenty of muscle for towing medium-sized campers and trailers.

The 2023 Ford Transit Trail van price starts at $65,975. This price is for the long model. Pricing for the extended option hasn’t been revealed. Deliveries are expected to begin in the spring of 2023. 

The regular Ford Transit starts at $51,070, so you’re looking at an additional $14,905 for off-roading upgrades. It’s pretty value-packed. A 12.0-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, parking sensors, and a high-resolution backup camera come standard.
