One of the most exciting new additions for the 2022 Grand Cherokee is the 4xe plug-in hybrid. The Grand Cherokee 4xe gets an estimated fuel economy of 57 MPGe while providing an estimated 25 miles of electric-only range. The total system output of the hybrid powertrain is 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Jeep has big plans for the electrification of its model lineup with its “Zero Emission Freedom” initiative — and the 4xe is an integral part of its growth.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the 2022 Grand Cherokee offers a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine and the latest iteration of the award-winning 5.7-liter V8 engine. The V6 engine generates 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the V8 engine doles out 357 hp and 390 lb-ft torque.

Do you have towing needs? The towing capacity for the Grand Cherokee with the V8 engine is a best-in-class 7,200 pounds. Grand Cherokee models equipped with the V6 engine can tow up to 6,200 pounds, while the 4xe can tow up to 6,000 pounds.

Also, it provides over-the-air updates, so drivers can continuously access new features for the infotainment system as they become available.

The 2022 Grand Cherokee is also more spacious than the 2021 Grand Cherokee. It has a total interior passenger volume of 144.6 cu-ft, an increase of 4.1 cu-ft over the previous year. Also, the 2022 Grand Cherokee has an additional 1.4 cu-ft of storage space, with a cargo capacity of 37.7 cu-ft. Customers that want even more interior space can opt for the three-row Grand Cherokee L.

With the upcoming release of the 2022 Grand Cherokee, SUV shoppers can soon get the redesigned and upgraded SUV. The 4xe plug-in hybrid model is a significant addition to the Grand Cherokee lineup. Considering the demand for both SUVs and electric vehicles, the Grand Cherokee 4xe should be a successful model for Jeep.
