According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2021 Ford F-150 maintained its position as the most considered pickup truck during the third quarter of 2021. This information was determined by the KBB Brand Watch Report, and the Chevy Silverado 1500 and Toyota Tacoma took the second and third spots.

It’s a quarterly consumer perception survey that evaluates customer shopping behavior to understand how brands and models are performing against each other in the marketplace.

The report includes about a dozen factors that are then used to gauge how a given shopper makes their buying decisions. Overall, pickup trucks became more popular with non-luxury buyers in Q3. About 32 percent of shoppers indicated an interest in buying a truck, which is an increase of one percent.

What other awards did the 2021 F-150 win?

The 2021 Ford F-150 came in clutch by winning the KBB Lowest Cost to Own award among full-size pickup trucks. It has a predicted 5-year ownership cost of $48,456. This is about $4,274 less than the segment average.

The 5-year cost-to-own projections are provided by KBB analysts that calculate projected resale values while considering insurance, state fees, fuel, maintenance, and repair costs. KBB also uses the initial cost as calculated by its fair purchase price.

Also, the F-150 won the Motor1 Star Award for Best Truck. To win this award, trucks must provide on-road comfort and space. Plus, they need to deliver a good fuel economy as average fuel prices are on the rise.

Award winners must help owners get work done. This means that the towing and payload capacities are taken into consideration. The F-150 can tow up to 14,000 lbs and carry a payload of up to 3,325 lbs.

The Ford F-150 provides clever storage solutions with rear seats that flip up against the wall. It’s also hard to beat the Pro Power Onboard Generator that can power worksites, tailgate events, campsites, and even your home.
