With the release of the F-Type in 2013, Jaguar established itself as a true competitor in the luxury sports car market, becoming more than just your grandfather’s car. It has aggressive styling, impressive performance, and all of the luxury of a high-end Jaguar. Every year, however, car manufacturers are building faster, lighter, and all-around better cars, pushing the boundaries of mechanics and styling to bring to life modern concepts and futuristic speeds. Going into its next production year, will the 2021 F-Type live up to our heightened expectations?

The new 2021 Jaguar F-Type will have a range of prices and options that make it an affordable option for power or a high-end option with the purchase of more expensive models. The base model will start around $60,000 making it just as affordable as the new mid-engine Corvette C8.

The F-Type gets some cosmetic updates

From the side profile, the Jaguar F-Type doesn’t look that dissimilar from some Aston Martin cars. It has beautiful proportions and sleek lines to give it a timeless and classic look, with all of the modern-day touches. In the new 2021 model, the front fascia gets a facelift for an even more aggressive style. The updated front bumper pairs with new LED headlights with animated turn signals and extensive detailing.

The rear end doesn’t see too many changes, and it maintains the classic F-Type shape of the taillights. The taillights do get some LED upgrades and dynamic turn signals. The overall lines and shape of the F-Type remain untouched, with a little added depth for aggression here and there.

The luxurious leather interior doesn’t see much in the way of updates either, not that we are complaining. Two comfortably padded seats sit inside the car’s driver-oriented cabin, with enough racing heritage and design to hold you in place without feeling as if you are sinking into the leather. The high-end materials that line the dashboard and center console make the car feel much more expensive than the sticker price might lead you to believe.

The wide-screen infotainment system sits nestled above the simple yet modern climate controls. The biggest change to the interior for the 2021 model year is the electronic instrument gauge screen in front of the steering wheel.

…and some better than ever performance

There are several available engine options depending on the specific model of F-Type you are looking at, and all of them have a lot to offer. The V8 engine option and V6 engine are both supercharged, providing power and melodic, whiny exhaust sounds. The V8 option will have as much as 575hp while the V6 still has an impressive 380hp.

The stiff suspension and steering give this car racecar-like driving experience. It handles on the straight-away roads delivering enough torque to give an exhilarating launch and glides around sharp corners with power and grace.

The new 2021 has the cosmetic upgrades to pair with the power and handling of any other sports car in its class, at a relatively affordable sticker price. It may, in fact, be the best year yet.
