It’s time to see how efficient some different hybrid models really are. Kia hybrid vehicles stand out with plenty of power and range. However, which Kia Hybrid has the best range? Will the winner be a car or SUV?

Which Kia Hybrid has the best fuel economy?

It looks like the Kia Hybrid SUVs win because there aren’t any hybrid sedans in the lineup. Also, the Kia Telluride Hybrid hasn’t come out yet, but rumors suggest that it’s on the way.

As of the time of writing here are the current Kia Hybrid vehicles:

  • The 2024 Kia Niro PHEV
  • The 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid
  • The 2024 Kia Sportage PHEV

A hybrid vehicle means that a battery or electric motor is paired with the engine to combine gas and electric power. These vehicles can’t be plugged in and typically don’t have an all-electric range.

A PHEV is a plug-in electric vehicle. These usually have larger battery packs and can be plugged in to charge. They use gas and electricity and have an electric range.

It gets an EPA-estimated 35 mpg on the highway and up to 36 mpg in the city. With a charge, it gets about 84 MPGe. Plus, it has an all-electric range of 33 miles. It can go roughly 430 miles on a single tank.

4. The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid

The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid starts at $36,990. It pairs a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to generate 227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. That’s pretty close to the Sportage Hybrid.

Anyways, the Sorento Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 39 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. It can travel about 655 miles before refueling.

5. The 2024 Kia Sorento PHEV

The 2024 Kia Sorento PHEV completes this list of Kia Hybrid models and it starts at $50,290. It pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine with a 13 kWh battery to provide 261 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque.
