If you aren’t ready to go electric, you can still be greener with a hybrid vehicle. Some options, like the Kia Sorento Hybrid, may surprise you with plenty of power and fuel-saving range. See how many mpg the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid gets.

How many MPG does the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid get?

The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 35 mpg in the city, up to 39 mpg on the highway, and about 37 mpg combined. It’s one of the most fuel-efficient three-row SUVs available.

Adding AWD reduces these figures to about 33 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined. This is because AWD makes the vehicle heavier.

Plus, the Sorento Hybrid has the best driving range out of every hybrid SUV you can buy. The FWD models have a range of up to 655 miles between fill-ups. The AWD models can travel up to 602 miles on a single tank of gas.

Other hybrid vehicles can surpass 600 miles between fill-ups, but none of them can get over 650 miles. This makes the Sorento Hybrid an extremely efficient family hauler.

The Sorento Hybrid paired a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine to generate 227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds. That’s plenty of power for passing others and merging into traffic.

When properly equipped, the Sorento Hybrid can tow up to 2,000 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,578 lbs. You can access up to 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and up to 75.5 cubes overall. You can carry up to seven passengers as well.

While the Sorento PHEV has an EPA-estimated all-electric range of 32 miles, it only has a range of 460 miles on a single tank of gas. It gets about 79 MPGe with gas and electricity.

The Kia Sorento Hybrid has an MSRP of $36,990 and the Sorento PHEV takes the price up to $50,290. That’s a $13,000 jump between powertrains. The Sorento Hybrid sits in an affordable sweet spot.
