As we approach Battery Day, people are looking forward to this event. What will be revealed? Hopefully, the info bestowed upon the public at this new Battery Day event will prove worth all the excitement.

What is Battery Day?

Bridie Schmidt, with The Driven, writes that the Tesla Battery Day event will “unveil Tesla’s improvements in battery technology.” However, some of this information leaked with images of a new battery prototype that Tesla allegedly manufactures on its own. Apparently, Elon Musk said that Battery Day “could be the most important day in Tesla’s history.”

Battery technology is expected to increase so exponentially that “million-mile ranges” are in the future, says battery expert Dan Blondal. Bondal, CEO at Canada’s Nano One, heads a company that produces li-ion cathode materials. There is much ahead of us in the industry. Tomorrow should give us welcome insight.

“Blondal lists million-mile batteries, as well as in-house manufacturing and the integration of technologies from companies it has acquired such as Maxwell and Hibar amongst the revelations that can be expected on Battery Day.”

‘Feeding the electrical grid’

According to Steve LeVine from Marker, there are many who predict this information will go beyond just Elon Musk on Twitter riling people up. The Tesla Battery event will help analysts project the growing EV market. In addition, some “forecast that he intends to create a business feeding the electrical grid. However, at this stage of the game our musings likely come close to reality but Elon Musk typically has somthing up his sleeve.

If past history indicates future performance, it’s likely that we will learn something unexpected. Additionally, due to the fact that the Tesla Battery Day event will stream immediately after the stockholder’s meeting, it likely has an impact large enough to affect the market. This wouldn’t by any means shock the public, given Tesla’s financial history.
