Toyota Is Offering Free Fast Charging for the bZ4X

When it comes to EVs, Toyota is lagging behind other popular automakers. The company is finally releasing an electric SUV in mid-2022. The Toyota bZ4X isn’t as flashy as other electric SUVs, but Toyota may have a deal sweet enough to squash the competition.

According to Road Show by CNET, Toyota is partnering with EVgo to provide an entire year of free fast charging to bZ4X buyers. Kia is also offering free EV charging in partnership with Electrify America, but not for an entire year. This offer may be the best electric vehicle incentive from an automaker yet.

The move is especially genius because of the current state of the economy. Inflation is making a huge impact on middle-class Americans. Gas prices are sky high and the Russia-Ukraine conflict is causing prices to rise even higher. Gas prices are making it much harder to own an internal combustion vehicle in 2022.

Aside from gas prices, this free charging strategy also compliments the bZ4X’s low price. According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2023 Toyota bz4X will start at around $36,000. After federal electric vehicle tax credits, its price will come closer to $28,500.

Between the electric SUV’s affordable price and Toyota’s amazing new fast-charging deal, the bZ4X is shaping up to be the best new electric SUV deal on the market. A year of free fast-charging on an affordable EV is hard to refuse as trips to the gas station become increasingly heartbreaking. Will gas prices push drivers out of their vehicles and into a new bZ4X?

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X doesn’t have the most range in its vehicle segment. It won’t be as exciting as some of its rivals in terms of specs. Toyota has never been as focused on performance as some of its competitors. The Japanese automaker focuses on providing practical, reliable vehicles that can outlast many competitors.

The bZ4X uses a heat pump to help its battery perform in extreme weather conditions. Extreme cold weather temperatures have caused many EVs to lose the ability to heat their cabins. Extreme cold has even caused some electric vehicles to lose power completely. Toyota foresaw this issue and took special precautions to ensure that the bZ4X doesn’t encounter typical electric vehicle reliability issues.
