U.S. News compiled a list of some of the most reliable luxury SUVs for 2021. At the top of the list was the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class has a lot of pros, such as roomy seats and an upgraded engine. The ride and handling are second to none, and the new MBUX infotainment system is pretty cool.

Some of the drawbacks include the tight third row that is optional on some of the vehicles. The GLE 53 and GLE 63 S trims are expensive but worth it, and these are new for 2021. U.S. News gave the GLE Class an 8.5 out of 10 overall.

Price range: $54,750 – $116,000

A classic, reliable luxury SUV, the 2021 BMW X5

The 2021 BMW X5 is a classic SUV that has stood the test of time. It has a fast engine and a well-thought-out interior with a lot of room in the cabin. U.S. News says it has a lengthy features list and a balanced ride. The starting price is a bit high, but you get what you pay for with this reliable luxury SUV.

There is a plug-in-hybrid xDrive45e option for the X5 this year. It also offers Android Auto in addition to Apple Carplay. With no optional third row, the X5 has room for five. This luxury SUV got a score of 8.4 out of 10.

Price ranges: $59,400 – $105,100

The unexpected option, 2022 Audi Q8

Third on the list of most reliable luxury SUVs is the 2022 Audi Q8. U.S. News found that the Q8 had a spacious, high-end interior and powerful engine options. The ride was balanced and fun, with intuitive technology features inside. However, the fuel economy is a big drawback. U.S. News has the estimated mpg at 13-18 mpg in the city and 19-23 mpg on the highway.

One further drawback is the high starting price. The RS Q8 will run you over $100,000, but it could be worth it if you are looking for a quick SUV. Without a Safety or Quality rating, the Q8 scored 8.3 out of 10.

Price range: $69,300 – $115,400

A roomy, three-row option is the 2021 Lincoln Aviator

The 2021 Lincoln Aviator has room for six or seven passengers. It has a “huge” cargo area and intuitive infotainment control. U.S. News says the ride is smooth, and the powertrain options are exciting. Some drawbacks include narrow seats and a ride that can be too rigid at times. There were no significant changes for the Aviator in 2021.

U.S. News gave the Aviator a score of 8.2 out of 10. The safety score was 9.7 out of 10, which is the highest score yet shared with the GLE Class.

Price range: $51,100 – $88,335

A reliable luxury SUV pick: 2021 Lexus RX 350

Definitely not the most exciting, reliable luxury SUV, but the 2021 Lexus RX 350 has been around long enough to prove itself. U.S. News found the RX 250 reliable and well-rounded but felt held back by the small cargo space and back seat. The Lexus SUV has a comfortable and composed ride. There are a variety of optional features to choose from, plus a lot of standard features.

A third row is available but is too cramped for most passengers. For 2021, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and power mirrors are standard. Wireless charging is an available option. U.S. News gave the reliable luxury SUV an 8.1 out of 10.

Price range: $45,070 – $52,350

Overall, the most reliable luxury SUVs will cost a little more but offer a lot in return. The safety features and trim levels mean one of these SUVs can be configured to meet most needs. These might have a higher starting MSRP than other vehicles, but the price is worth it.
