The Mazda Mazda6 is Mazda’s larger sedan. It’s luxurious and punchy with a more expensive feel than its price tag. For the last several years its sales have been in decline. Due to the booming crossover market, the Mazda6 is feeling the same effects as other cars produced by automakers across the board.

The data shows that the 2014 Mazda6 has the greatest number of complaints. However, the 2004 Mazda6 is deemed the worst model year. This is because the problems consumers complained about were worse and more expensive to repair, though lesser in volume.

The 2005 Mazda6 has engine problems. The most complained about issue is for the 2009 model year. Apparently, this Mazda car has problems with a melting dash. The 2018-2020 model years all have zero complaints filed. However, they are also the years which have seen the lowest number of units sold.

The Mazda Mazda3 takes the top spot among the most complained about Mazda cars, according to It’s also the most popular, according to Good Car Bad Car. Though the numbers match up, you may still wonder about the nature of these Mazda complaints.

The total number of complaints on file for the Mazda3 is 529. Though this Mazda car has also seen a decline in sales due to the popular crossover market, it’s still a car that people are buying. So if you are researching the Mazda6, you’re probably interested in what the data has to say about this compact car.

Mazda3 problems

The worst Mazda3 model year is 2010. This model has issues with interior accessories and clutch failure. In fact, the most complained about year for this Mazda car is 2010. The clutch failure in the 2010 Mazda3 is also the most commonly reported problem.

Additionally, there are clutch issues with the 2011 model year. The 2012 Mazda3 has reports of the “gears grinding” posted. Though the Mazda3 is generally a good car, the issues with these model years don’t sound fun. The 2020 Mazda3 has zero complaints filed so far, and the 2019 model year only has 4 complaints filed so far.
