The Telluride and its counterpart the Hyundai Palisade, are three-row SUVs that won have earned a slew of awards from automotive journalists and pack a lot of value for their $35,000 base price. The new models, though, will arrive soon with several great upgrades.

What’s new for the 2023 Kia Telluride?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is getting a major facelift. The 291-horsepower motor will stay, but almost everything else is different. On the outside, the new SUV gets new headlights, bumpers, taillights, new wheels, and doors. On the inside, it can still seat eight, but the screens, dash, steering wheel, and options packages will be updated. Most notably, it’ll get a new front-end and rear-end styling that should make it stand out.

Kia is also recognizing that people who buy SUVs want to take them off-road. The new X-Line and X-Pro all-wheel drive models offer a bit more utility for going off-road. The Telluride will never be a Ford Bronco, but with the new off-road package increased the Telluride’s clearance angles by giving it a 10mm higher ground clearance and an upgraded traction control system, it should handle forest roads with aplomb.

When did the Kia Telluride come out?

The Kia Telluride debuted three years ago and very quickly became one of Kia’s top sellers. The 2020 Telluride won a slew of awards in its first year, including the World Car of the Year and Motor Trend’s SUV of the year. In 2022 it ranked on top of J.D. Power’s rating in its class, Upper Midsize SUV. Consumer Reports recommends the Telluride and it ranks higher than any other midsized three-row SUV.

When can you order a 2023 Kia Telluride?

Kia hasn’t opened the order books quite yet for the 2023 Telluride. The 2022 Kia Telluride is still the only model listed. The 2022 Kia Telluride starts at $34,725, and we’re expecting the pricing to remain similar for 2023. New models should be in dealer showrooms in August or September of this year, however if you want to build your own from Kia’s website, it may take a few weeks more for delivery. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade, which is very similar but has different styling, starts at $34,950.

What problems does the Kia Telluride have?

Owners don’t report many problems with the Kia Telluride. In fact, it ranks the highest on J.D. Power’s survey of owners in its class, beating the Chevy Traverse and the Toyota Highlander. Owners report that it has a great driving experience, and a great resale value, too. Consumer Reports recommends the Telluride.
