The 2021 Kia Telluride has a lot going for it. It’s stock full of sought after features, even if you opt for the base model. It also boasts a pretty impressive driving experience and offers up plenty of interior room for passengers. It doesn’t make any compromises when it comes to warranty coverage either. But does the 2021 Kia Telluride have everything you need to enjoy your time spent behind the wheel?

What engine comes standard on the 2021 Kia Telluride?

Opt for a base model Telluride, or the Telluride LX, and you can expect it to come powered by a 291-hp V6 engine. According to Consumer Reports, its V6 engine provides more than enough power under the hood. It also works well alongside the Telluride’s smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. As for gas mileage? When outfitted with front-wheel drive, the new Kia Telluride delivers EPA-estimated ratings of 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

This SUV is standard with a long list of people-pleasing interior features

While what’s under the hood of the Kia Telluride is certainly important, its interior is also worth mentioning. With three rows of seating to offer, the 2021 Kia Telluride offers up the most interior passenger room of all vehicles in its segment. And with Sofino synthetic leather-trimmed seats, the new Kia Telluride is pretty comfortable too. All in all, according to Car and Driver, the interior of this year’s Telluride is “undeniably upscale and comfortable.”

But, this Kia has far more to offer than an upscale, comfortable interior. Even when you opt for the base Kia Telluride, you can expect it to come outfitted with an impressive selection of tech-savvy features. Standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen display, this year’s Telluride is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It comes equipped with a six-speaker sound system as well.

Enjoy peace of mind with these standard safety features

Equally impressive is the 2021 Kia Telluride’s long list of standard safety features. All Telluride models come outfitted with the usual seatbelt systems and airbags. The Telluride is also standard with a rollover sensor, an anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, and hill start assist control.

The 2021 Kia Telluride comes standard with plenty of driver assistance safety features, too, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist. With so many safety features to its name, it’s no surprise that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2021 Kia Telluride a five-star overall safety rating.

The Kia Telluride comes standard with an industry-leading warranty

It’s no secret that all Kia models come standard with the automaker’s industry-leading warranty. The same goes for this year’s Telluride. Standard with the automaker’s 10-year/100,000-mile warranty program, the 2021 Kia Telluride comes covered by a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty, and a 5-year/100,000-mile limited anti-perforation warranty. It’s also standard with a 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance plan.

How much does the 2021 Kia Telluride cost?

Choose the base 2021 Kia Telluride, and you can expect to spend about $31,990 on it. Of course, if the base model doesn’t quite do it for you, the Kia Telluride is also available in S, EX, and SX trim levels. While these trim levels do offer additional features, they will cost you just a tad bit more than a base Kia Telluride will.
