Owning a truck is about more than heavy-duty performance. Sometimes it’s about making a statement. No pickup makes more of an impact than the jaw-dropping 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Special Edition.

While you shouldn’t consider special editions an investment, these trucks carry a ton of curb appeal. Chevrolet offers a long list of Silverado variants, and each has its own merits. However, few stand out as much as the Carhartt Special Edition.

Let’s break down why this truck is garnering so much attention and how it compares to other special edition models.

What’s unique about the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Special Edition?

It’s no secret that most trucks look widely the same. Furthermore, it’s not typical to associate luxurious, fashion-forward styling with these beastly machines’ rugged carriage. However, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Special Edition does just that.

Carhartt, a workwear brand based out of Detroit, Mich., originally debuted this design as a concept for the 2016 SEMA trade show. And Chevrolet later made it an official offering for the Silverado 2500 HD.

Think of the design on this vehicle as the Rolex watch of the truck sector. With sleek lines and thoughtful neutral touches, this vehicle looks more like a top-of-the-line luxury SUV than a truck.

This truck, dressed in black, exudes elegance. A thin yellow line running around the exterior gives it just a hint of visual interest while also foreshadowing the interior. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Special Edition’s supple leather seats are a deep black inlaid. They feature just the right amount of brown, giving the truck a sophisticated edge.

How to get the Carhartt Special Edition

This package’s only significant downside is that shoppers are limited to just one trim level. Chevrolet only makes the Carhartt edition available on the LTZ trim. It’ll cost you a pretty penny, too.

The Silverado 2500 LTZ starts at an MSRP of $53,900 when configured with a crew cab, standard bed, and four-wheel drive. Equipping the Carhartt Special Edition package requires you to add other options, totaling an additional $8,870.

These changes bring the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Special Edition’s total price to $62,570. Notably, this figure is before applying destination charges and package discounts.

This model features a 6.6-liter V8 engine that kicks out 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. However, shoppers can opt to replace this gas engine with an available 445-hp 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 that makes 910 lb-ft of torque.

Plus, you’ll get heated seats, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen display, hitch guidance with hitch view, and more.

Chevrolet’s other special editions leave a lot to be desired

Other popular Silverado HD variants include the Z71 Sport Edition, Z71 Sport Chrome Edition, and Midnight Edition. While the Z71 models display a sporty edge and off-road acumen, other trucks like the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro are quite similar.

The 2021 Chevy Silverado Carhartt Special Edition comes with the Z71 Off-Road package. So, you won’t be missing out on much. This setup includes skid plates, twin-tube Rancho shocks, and hill descent control.

Meanwhile, the Midnight Edition is just a subdued version of the Carhartt Special Edition. Its blacked-out style lacks the unique touches and sophistication of the latter model.

Is the Carhartt Special Edition worth the money?

Some would argue this special edition doesn’t have enough exclusive features aside from cosmetic differences. However, we all know that style plays an immense role in owner satisfaction.

You’ll be driving your truck for years to come, and at one point or another, it will become a part of your perceived persona. That’s why it doesn’t hurt to go with the best of the best – provided you can afford it.

No other heavy-duty truck stands out quite like the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Edition. So, you should pass up this beauty.
